Disliked: Cleanliness, amenities, property conditions & facilities
Checking in was mediocre. The attendant wasn’t super friendly, but checked us in without any issues. There was an $35 dollar pet fee, which was the highest I paid, with the previous hotel being $20. Unfortunately, one of our rooms was on the second floor, which there are no elevators making it difficult for my 80 year old mother. I’m guessing the motel has permanent tenants, as there were trash bags outside most of the doors. Several doors were open with people going in and out and we had to walk through a cloud of marijuana smoke which was not pleasant (yes, due to my profession, I know what it smells like). My mother’s double bed room was extremely gross. I took pictures, but I see I cannot upload them here.
The comforter had holes in it, which our dogs blankets are in better shape. The fridge was covered in what looked like tape residue from previous attempts to keep the fridge closed and now had buckles to keep it closed. From the condition of the room, I cannot understand why we paid the hefty $35 pet fee.
A couple hours later, my mom called me back to her room, where there was a cockroach walking across the pillow. I checked under the bed to see if there were more, and that’s where I saw the trash and dirt. Clearly, cleaning under the beds and other items does not happen. Yes, I have pictures. My mom killed two other bugs that night.
The second room on the first floor was actually in decent shape and looked nice. Shower had hot water and was in ok shape.
