went to a football game after booking this fumble.
stay away. Old, Dingy, peeing paint, the plugs didn't work, it had a broke down full size fridge, and a microwave on the top of it with a cord that didn't reach a plug that wouldn't have worked anyway. No towels or wash clothes except for the used one in the tub. It doesn't feel safe. At check in, the proprietor took a picture of my license with his personal phone. now im worried about that.

Good location. The lady was okay, not great. The area was fairly quiet.
Blood on the sheets... maybe looked like bedbug signs. Also found lots of hair and other weird stains on the sheets. I asked management for a new room. They complied, that room was cleaner, and no blood on the bed. However it was still obvious the sheets were dirty and not fresh. Not sure I would stay here again.
To be clear, I love Indianapolis! I grew up here not far from the Catalina. Knowing the history of US 40, the Oasis diner and the "motor road" motels in the area always intrigued me. I happen to be in a situation where I would get to experience this "iconic" motel. Glad to say that it wasn't as bad as the numbers would suggest. The rooms were compact but had all the space you would need. Upgrades had been done. Carpet, bed covers, and attempts at repairs. The sheets appeared to have not been changed. Hair everywhere. Walls not clean.
Room was molded. Bathroom extremly unfit for human occupation. This property should be reported to city officials immediatelly.Room recked of mold. Could not stay.
Night check-in took forever to come to the door. Then didn't want to give me the room until I showed my Expedia receipt, and then slowly and grudgingly. Transfered me to two double beds instead of the King I ordered. The sheets in one bed had holes in them. The toilet didn't flush, which I found out after using it. I had to take the lid off to fix it. The windows are sealed shut so the room doesn't breath, and the air conditioner is very noisy. And there's weird jugs of stuff scattered around outside.
Mark’s review about fearing for your life is accurate. Burn marks on the sheets, along with stains, debris and someone else’s hair. The fridge was FULL of someone else’s leftover food. The bathroom mirror was so splattered I can’t imagine how long it has gone without being cleaned. There was a cigarette butt on one of the night stands with ash everywhere. I purchased a sleeping bag and slept on the floor for my first night and then found a different hotel for the rest of my stay. Oh! And upon my arrival, a black minivan rolled down it’s window so a frowning woman could bark at me “Do you have a reservation? Through expedia?” When I replied yes she rolled up her window (apparently she works there). The front desk was just as unpleasant.
I'm not spoiled, but in this case I'm forced to say that the place is bad. The windows in the rooms (at least on the first floor) don't open, so the air in the room doesn't change and the room smells damp.
I had no wireless reception in most of my room, only close to the door.
The staff I talked to were nice, but had to wait for them to come to the reception. And on top of everything, since there was a big conference at Indianapolis that weekend and most hotel rooms were taken, I was overcharged to the room.
This motel was SO bad I had to ask for a refund and report them to the health department.
No joke.

It was okay. We didn't really stay long. We had a family member have a kidney transplant, so much just slept a few hours and headed to hospital. But it was okay.
