I enjoy finding budget hotels knowing that there is some risk involved. This hotel was very reasonable and quite satisfactory. Our room had a fridge, microwave and a comfortable bed. Breakfast was nice as mentioned by other reviewers. We would stay again.
The staff were all congenial, knowledgeable, friendly and ALWAYS willing to assist. The facility was pristine; both the lovely grounds and the cleanest inside area. Our room was well appointed. We especially loved the soaps on the wall next to the sink and in the shower. Those did away with those tiny, messy “bars” of soap and kept the sink are clean
Breakfast had variety and was plentiful. Staff paid attention to keeping it well stocked during breakfast hours.
My husband and I were totally impressed. The Imlay City location far, far exceeded our expectations!! Hands down the nicest, best managed motel we have ever stayed in.
Staff was friendly. Room was tidy, clean and generally well maintained. Bathtub filled up and drained slowly. Bureau and side tables are well worn and likely need replacing. Breakfast was quite disappointing but then I do not go to a hotel for the food.
Not sure if the rest of the rooms were like ours, but it was run down. The owners need to renovate. The carpets were smelly and very old. Can't say I was impressed with the general cleanliness of the hotel in general either. This property is old and in need of work. For the money, they fell way short of my expectations. I can't believe the prices hotels are charging now, for substandard rooms.
They put us in what they called a "Suite", it was a horrible room! Bed is a Murphy bed that has a lumpy mattress. Furniture is very old and very very dirty. Did not want to sit on any of it. Bathroom has no trash and one mirror mounted high enough to see just my head. Water pressure was a trickle. All closets were full of maintenance supplies or stacks of chairs. There was a freezer with supplies for breakfast buffet with no lock on it. We could have touched everything. Floor and carpet were dirty. The deadbolt got jammed and locked us into the room!! A guy who worked there had to climb in the window and pry it open with a screwdriver. The front desk manager, Mari, stated that staff had been locked in but not a guest. If they knew the lock was faulty, why rent it at all? We asked for a new room and Mari acted like i was at fault for not wanting to stay in the storage/meeting room. She then reassigned us to a room that was occupied, scared the heck out of that person. We finally got a clean empty room after much chaos. Mari also walked across the parking lot to the vehicle that we were sitting in 50 ft from the building to tell us that she could smell marijuana coming from somewhere and if it was us we needed to stop. The whole time prior to and after she was sitting at the picture table puffing on a vape and said nothing to the cigarette smokers. The only compensation we were offered for the terrible room and rude service was a bottle of cold coffee. It was a bad weekend.
