"Pension Barbara is a very cosy and clean pension right next to the paths leading up to The Brocken. The hostess was very sweet and attentive, and we had a good stay. Schierke as a town is a bit dated and quiet in the autumn, when we visited. Is was difficulty to find a place to just have a couple of drinks etc. The national park, Brocken and paths are all excellent for a short hiking-holiday. Great nature, chalenging paths (if you want it), nice restaurant on the summit."

"Wir haben mit zwei Pärchen einen Kurzurlaub im Thaler Hof in Thale/Harz gemacht und waren alle vier enttäuscht. Die Zimmer waren extrem klein und hatten keinen Sitzkomfort ( 2 Holzstühle ohne Armlehnen und Kissen ). Es fehlten auch Ablagemöglichkeiten und Nachtschränkchen zur Aufbewahrung von Kleinutensilien. Der Zimmer Tisch hatte eine Größe von ca. 50 mal 50 cm. Steckdosen waren genug vorhanden. Das Frühstück war unser Meinung nach auch keine 8,50 Euro wert. Wir haben schon für 7 Euro...

"The stay was "alright", we just wanted someone where sleep as it was a stop over. Google maps and and the hotels.com map sent us in the wrong direction sending us up a dirt track through forests to the middle of nowhere resulting in having to do a three-point turn on the side of a drop off with only enough room for one car. Turned up eventually to be shown two rooms in which we had to lug our suitcases up and down flights of stairs as the first room wasn't made. It was cheap accommodation though...

"Wir haben eine tolle Woche im Chalet Nummer 3 verbracht. Das Haus war toll und gemütlich eingerichtet. Der Kontakt zu den Vermietern und der guten Seele Frau Adler war vorbildlich. Die Lage ist hervorragend und man erreicht die schöne Innenstadt von Wenigerode fußläufig in wenigen Minuten. Wir kommen sicher wieder!"
