I stayed at the property recently for 3 months. While the property is getting a bit old, however, management seems to try its best in the upkeep and maintenance. Room sizes are a bit small, and ceiling lights are not sufficient, leaving corners of the room dark. Makes the room look even smaller than it is.
The staff was good and friendly. Yet, there is a problem in communication. At times what they promise will be done, doesn't get done. Perhaps, a result of over promising, not understanding the situation, and complete forgetfulness. Something I did not expect from the Taj group.
For example, a major source of frustration for me was trying to get the hotel to post the Tata Neu Rewards to my account for my stay. Despite my constant reminder on numerous occasions and getting false promises from the hotel every time, that it'll be resolved shortly, my rewards points have yet to be credited to my account. Needless to say one would expect this basic task would have been done automatically. Yet, it seemed to be a herculean task. And now that I've checked out of the hotel, I have no more updates as to what and why the problem has not been resolved. Out-of-sight, out-of-mind I guess!
I do travel to India often each year and stay for 2 months at a stretch, I have decided if the issue is not resolved in the near future, I will not be staying at Vivanta or at the Taj group any more.
There are now equal or better accommodation options and service in Hyderabad now.
