"We love this place, very comfortable. Food is amazing, however we did find our breakfast a little cold at times. Our room was very cosy but maybe could do with a deep clean in the bathroom. There was a drain odour, but that could havd been the toilet brush that was absolutely rank. Not what you expect to see when stepping out of the shower. We really had a great relax. Many thanks"

"We had a lovely stay here. So Christmassy but even other times of year so cosy felt homely. Reception was very welcoming room was decorated lovely and really felt like a retreat away from it all. Fires and Christmas trees . We ate in the restaurant and all the food was hot and delicious. Location was very central for village visits and walks it was tough to choose whether to go out for walks or just stay in the hotel and relax. We are already planning our next trip back"

"Firstly we have stayed here before and had a wonderful experience. The property is old and consequently does not have that modern minimalistic feel to it. I think the beds could do with replacing as you can feel the springs through the mattress topper. The stairs are a challenge on par with climbing Snowden. So why did we come back? "This is my first time staying here, and I was pleasantly surprised. The pub has been tastefully decorated without losing any of its original charm: it is cosy, clean, and warm. The host couldn't have been more welcoming, and all staff were exceptional. The room was a pleasant surprise, big enough, nicely decorated and with all the items required for a good stay. Booked again for March! "
