The Space:
Villa Monarca is a 2-story villa located within Palmas del Mar resort in Humacao, Puerto Rico. The villa has over 1,800 square feet of construction, 3 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, a terrace overlooking the resort, and a massive private rooftop with gas BBQ, dining table for 6, hammock, and social seating for 8. You’ll love the spacious layout, top-notch furnishings, and multiple social areas this villa offers. Villa Monarca comfortably sleeps 6.

IMPORTANT NOTE: This property is strictly for a maximum of 6 guests at any given time - this includes visitors.

IMPORTANT NOTE #2: All security cameras are outside of the property (entry, balcony, patio). There are no cameras inside of the property.

PRICING NOTE: The following dates: 12/17/2024 - 1/8/2025 are showing up very expensive in the system, this is because we're not sure if the property will be available to rent for those specific dates. If you have any questions, please reach out to us.
 

LIVING AREAS

The main level has an open concept layout that connects the dining room, living room, kitchen, and terrace. The kitchen has granite countertops and a center aisle so that whoever is cooking is always part of the group. The dining table comfortably sits six and overlooks the terrace and views of the resort. The terrace has a large sofa and a spiral staircase to the private rooftop. Enter the rooftop and you are greeted with a large array of options for socializing or relaxing. The furniture is modular and easy to re-arrange depending on your mood. There are both covered and open-air options on the rooftop which has a gas BBQ, dining table for 6, a large exterior sofa, hammock, and exterior lounge chairs. From here you can enjoy the trade winds and Caribbean sun while you relax with friends and family.

 
SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS

The master bedroom has 1 king bed with a flat-screen TV, AC, a walk-in closet, a reading area, a private bathroom, and palm tree views. The 2nd bedroom has 1 queen bed with a full closet and AC. The 3rd bedroom has a full bed and full closet as well as AC and a TV. All bedrooms are appointed with top-notch furnishing and resort-quality linens. The 2nd and 3rd bedrooms share a full bathroom. 

PACK AND PLAY (SUBJECT TO AVAILABILITY):

We can leave a complimentary Pack and Play at the property upon request. This should be requested upon booking or no later than 5 days before arrival. Pack and Plays are subject to availability.
 

KITCHEN

Villa Monarca offers a beautiful and spacious kitchen with granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, a center aisle with an electric stovetop and oven, and all the cooking accessories you need for an extended stay. You’ll love how the cook is always part of the group. There is also a convenient window to the terrace you can use to send appetizers and drinks up to the rooftop.
 

LOCATION

Villa Monarca is located within the largest resort community in Puerto Rico, Palmas del Mar. Palmas del Mar offers a wonderful mile-long beach, multiple dining options, marina, tennis, and golf – among other offerings. The resort has miles and miles of running and cycling trails. There is also a community pool a 1-minute walk from the property.

The list of activities to do in Palmas is virtually endless, but here are some of our favorites:

Golf at one of Palmas del Mar’s two 18-hole Golf Courses. Tee times can be booked directly with the Palmas del Mar Athletic Club.
Tennis at the Palmas del Mar Athletic Club with 20 courts that include artificial grass, Har-Tru Clay, and hard courts.
Lunch or dinner at “La Pescaderia,” an oceanfront restaurant by the marina with some of the best seafood on the island.
Explore the El Yunque Rainforest. El Yunque is an easy 40-minute drive from the property and is the only rainforest under US Flagship.

 
GETTING AROUND

We strongly recommend renting a car to be able to move around in and out of the resort. If looking to rent a golf cart so you can have direct access to the beach, we can provide the number of the rental companies on-site. The property includes two (2) parking spots for cars and one (1) additional small parking spot in case you decide to rent a golf cart.


TRAVEL INSURANCE

We strongly recommend that all guests purchase travel insurance, especially during the peak months of Hurricane Season, which are July to October. Travel insurance is inexpensive and will reimburse travelers for most expenses associated with canceling travel outside of the cancellation window; however, this will depend on what the coverage purchased covers. Make sure to review and understand the options before purchase. Disclaimer: we are not associated with any travel insurance companies.

 
AMENITIES

West Indies strives to deliver top-notch service and amenities to guarantee our guests feel at home while visiting our properties. All of our properties are outfitted with freshly laundered bed linens and towels. We provide 2 bath towels per guest and 1 beach/pool towel per guest. Our properties typically include at least 2 beach chairs and an ice cooler.
West Indies provides the disposable amenities necessary to get your vacation off to a comfortable start. These amenities include 1 set of hotel size soaps and shampoos per bathroom, 3 garbage bags, 1 roll of paper towel, 2 rolls of toilet paper per bathroom, 1 dish soap, 1 dish sponge, and a small amount of laundry detergent. We do not provide unlimited disposable amenities. It is your responsibility to review what is included in the property and stock with whatever else may be needed for the duration of your stay. 

 
HOUSE RULES

Check-in time is at 4:00 pm
Check-out time is at 11:00 am
NO SMOKING: Smoking is strictly prohibited. A smoking fee of $500 will be charged if violated.
NO PETS: No pets are allowed at any time. A $300 fine will be charged if violated and you will be expelled from the property.
Quiet hours are from 10:00 pm to 8:00 am. Please keep noise levels down during these hours out of respect to the neighbors.
The host will not pay for a hotel, vacation rental, or transportation expenses incurred because of an interruption in water or electrical service.  If water or electricity is interrupted for more than 3 hours, guests have the option of canceling their reservation and requesting a refund for the nights not used. Under no circumstances will we refund consumed nights.
All bookings are contingent on signing a short-term rental agreement that will be sent via email. It must be signed within 48 hours of booking or before entering the property, whichever happens first.
Maximum occupancy of 6 adults/children at all times. This includes visitors. 
Max. occupancy is strictly enforced and exceeding it may result in immediate cancellation of booking or being expelled from the property.    
Towels and linens must only be used for their intended purpose. Do not stain them with food, grease or any other substance. Do not use towels to clean up any mess. Stained towels/linens will be charged. 
Do not hang towels from the balcony or windows. A $100 fine may be applied if you break this rule.

This was a great stay. It’s big and spacious and definitely clean. However you can tell they have a lot of turnover . There are scuffs on the walls the sheets are gently used , broken tiles and wholes in the towels. I really wish people would take care of vacation priorities a little better . No need to become an animal on vacation. We kept the place tidy especially since ants would appear, if we didn’t. Highly recommend renting a golf cart to get around property. It made the trip that much more phone

Just Don’t!
My family of four booked this based on the reviews and photos. However, we were disappointed when we arrived. This place is in need of what should be routine maintenance. Paint is peeling off the wall. The blinds were broken. Paper towels were being used to seal the windows and attempt to keep bugs out. Lots of dirt and markings on the wall. No hot water in one of the bathrooms. Just. Don’t!

Lovely Villa
This villa is located in the middle of Palmas. Easy access to the Villas market area. The place was clean, beds were comfortable and as of October 2023 the towels were brand new and sparkling white and super soft. Kitchen is nice and appliances are new and working well. Outdoor space was nice. Upstairs deck has a nice sofa, grill, and dual outdoor ceiling fans. Beach stuff provided was also new and nice to have. We rented a golf cart and this was the best thing we did. You have the best access to the full resort as folks will let you drive pretty much anywhere. Overall good stay for 5-6 people.

We greatly enjoyed our March 2023 visit to this property. The listing accurately represents the rental, and the surrounding condo community is great with various restaurants and markets close by. We would recommend renting a golf cart as it made getting to the beach and dinner much easier (and more fun!),

Overall this place was Amazing from the moment you enter the property at the Security Gate and the grounds look like you are in Italy. So you feel safe which is important when you have kids with you. The unit was modern and super clean and Property owner was very attentive to text back quickly which was a plus and Rooftop was top notch and just being up there on the swing with my Coffee was so Peaceful and so enjoyable and the pool so close right outside was great for the kids.
