"A nice place to stay. Breakfast was great with plenty to choose from for all tastes. On the second morning the staff were a bit slow asking us if we wanted tea, coffee or toast and as a result our cooked food was half eaten before it arrived. Apart from that, a pleasant stay."

"What an amazing cottage this is, we are looking forward to a return visit, such a quite place only a couple of minutes away from the village square, lots of places to eat, pubs, restaurants, cafe etc we enjoyed a trip to Skipton and then just stayed in and enjoyed the log fire, would recommend."

Pen-y-Ghent makes up one the Yorkshire 3 peaks which, if you accept the challenge have to complete all 3 peaks and 24 miles within 12 hours. Most people start with this one (the smallest of the 3 ) from the nearby village of Horton-in-Ribblesdale. I’ve completed the challenge many years ago in my youth and this time we just tackled this one on a circular 6 mile walk. We took the 3 peaks ascent route which is steep in places and involves a scramble up some rocks near the end but the views
