"Our room had a mountain view that even included a small segment of the wall. After walking the wall we were greeted with dinner at the hotel, and prior to our departure the next day, we were served breakfast. Couldnt have asked for a better experience, thanks."

Huairou is a remote area about 1.5-2.0 hours drive from Beijing depending on traffic. If you want to get away from the city and explore a rural Chinese town, this is your place with quick access to the Wall.

It was nice to stay in the quiet little town of Huairou. One small drawback is that there were not many restaurants due to the size of the town. But the one our hosts took us to was very good.
