Across, is the living room, which is a great spot to chill with family and friends. Spread out a board game on the coffee table or cozy up and watch your favorite movie. With a comfy couch (which offers additional sleeping) and plenty of extra seating, there’s room for everyone to hang out.
Through this room, is a fully equipped kitchen where you can have fun spending time and cooking or you can take the meal prep outside and make your favorite meal on the wood pellet/propane gas grill. While you’re at the culinary works, you won’t want to forget about the beverages. Don’t let your inner barista or bartender go unfulfilled, be sure to take advantage of the fully stocked coffee station and cocktail/mocktail corner. Enjoy a meal at either of the two indoor dining tables (each seating 6) or feast outdoors overlooking the water, at the patio dining set in the gazebo. You can even set up a buffet or cocktail style at one of the picnic tables along the edge of the yard. The mealtime possibilities are endless.
Passing through the kitchen, you’re instantly met with the sight of a striking wall of windows. The sunroom spanning the entire river-facing side of the house, not only serves as an observation space to enjoy the views but also as a peaceful spot to sip your morning coffee, evening cocktail, or as a place to just be still. You can get cozy on the couch, one of several chairs or on the ultra-cushy oversized pouf (that folds out into a bed), situated looking out to the water and lush forest, just beyond. As phenomenal as this space is, you’ll want to make your way outside for the best features of this home.
The backyard is where you want to be. Choose to stretch out on the couch under the stunning vine-covered patio or sit at the dining table under the gazebo, curl up in the hanging egg chairs or layout on the loungers. Or maybe find yourself a comfy spot to tell stories, laugh and make memories, sitting around the firepit. No matter where you decide to post up, you’re poised for ultimate relaxation and enjoyment.
For the people/boat-watching aficionado, the daytime traffic can serve as entertainment and facing the Ouachita National Forest, you’re also certain to spot some of amazing wildlife that inhabits the area. Witness minks scurry along the retaining wall, and blue herons majestically swoop down and perch there too. For the bird watchers, fill the feeders out back, sit back and enjoy the action. The winged friends are sure to flock, considering this area is home to more than 300 species of birds.
Not interested in sitting around? Then let your competitive side come out with a game of cornhole or jumbo-sized Jenga. Play in the yard or make the most of the private and direct access to the water just a few yards away. You can drop a line and fish for trout or bass to name a few—or drop in a kayak or stand-up paddleboard—all right off the embankment. And for boating guests, we invite you to bring your boat! The water’s edge is rigged with mooring whips and cleats, so you can safely keep your boat at bay.
Relaxation and recreational fun aside, the most magical and serene experiences to be had at this property, come at various times throughout the day but are all observed from the same vantage point. Full-sensory delights to be reveled in while overlooking the water: At dawn, and sometimes early afternoon or evening, when the weather conditions are just right, a thick fog beautifully (yet eerily) rises from the water to cover the view of all but the treetops of the dense forest ahead. The layer of mist hovers only for a while, creating an otherworldly illusion impressively reflected on the water, then clearing to once again reveal the trees. At sunset, you can catch the sun slowly diving behind the forest, magnificently casting orange, pink, and yellow hues over the shimmering water, then the warm glow peeks through the trees as it finally descends out of sight. As the evening goes on, you’re now left to marvel at the dazzling twinkle of a star-filled, clear, dark sky totally undisturbed by city lights.
While you’ll likely be spending most of your time enjoying the incredible views or all the area has to offer, you will need a place to retire and recharge so you can wake up and do it all over again. Make your way down the hallway to find a peaceful retreat in one of the secondary bedrooms. This room features a plush, cozy queen bed and is adjacent to a spa-like bath with an updated floor-to-ceiling tiled walk-in shower. Complete with ambient lighting and sound, provided by an integrated Bluetooth speaker exhaust vent LED light, you can really take a moment to refresh in this space. Just connect to your favorite music and jam out or Zen out—whatever your shower tunes or karaoke preference may be, you’re in control. Or retire to the primary bedroom where you’ll drift off into the dreamiest, restful sleep in an ultra-comfortable, queen bed and enjoy the privacy of the en-suite bathroom.
