"A historic building on the outside, modernized on the inside, the guest house lies on the Salpa Line which was built to defend Finland during WWII. The Karelian flag flies proudly in the garden. The hosts arrange tours of the line and enthusiastically suggest walks and activities around Lappeenranta. The walk from the house to the lake Myllylampi was beautiful and alive with birds. Rooms are equipped with kitchen and dining areas."

"A fantastic property and very well thought-through in set-up. The central living room & dining area was a great space for our family of 4 and the 2 adjoining bedrooms worked really well. "Room was unclean on arrival. Door required a special manoeuvre to unlock which was a real fire risk as the room windows don’t open. We reported both to reception, but were greeted by a shrug of the soldiers and some story about renewing the cleaning contract at the end of the season. Breakfast was cold meat and cheese with watered down orange juice and just the one toaster. Some staff were helpful but others weren’t. Whilst offering fishing, the staff didn’t know how to obtain the 2 Euro per day...

"If you want a peaceful getaway this is the place for you. We stayed in the stand alone cottage, and it was perfect for us. We had beautiful views of the lake and the place was clean and comfortable. The water is very clear and excellent for swimming. The manager Jemma is so thoughtful and helpful. She even sent us information on things to do and restaurants to eat at. We will definitely stay here again. Thank you"
