Epavli Sofia is a two floor house of the early 20th century that is fully renovated and equipped with modern comforts and amenities. The house is in the seaside zone of Horto, at the distance of 30m from the sea (5min. walk). There are two apartments for rent, the ground floor apartment and the1st floor apartment. The ground floor apartment is a spacious 86m2, independent, self-contained apartment with its own entrance in the yard, suitable for a 4 persons family or group. The fenced courtyard and garden are wide, 308m2. The apartment provides hot water from its own solar heater, constant limitless wifi internet and HD smart tv. Fans in the rooms, no air condition due to the thickness of the stone walls (1m). The large french doors and the windows keep the space airy, fresh and bright. Substructure of energy fireplace and radiators in the rooms. There are two bedrooms with built-in closets, a large living room with a 4 persons sofa, 4 armchairs, a dining table for 6 persons, desk for the guests' tele-work, bookcase with english, french and greek language books, modern kitchen with full cooking equipment and lunch table of 4 persons and bathroom with shower stall and washing machine for guests' washing. The ground floor apartment has two large french doors overlooking the covered with artificial lawn garden. Guests enjoy relaxing, eating in their own dining area in the garden at a distance from other guests for social distancing and they have the exclusive use of a portable BBQ. The apartment is for rent throughout the year. The minimum of stay is 5 nights, in July and August minimum of stay is 7 nigths and in winter period (December- February) minimum stay is three months at a reduced price, utility bills and woods for the energy fireplace not included. Long term stay is welcome. The apartment is rented for a self-service use and care, because guests have the exclusive use, they stay alone & undisturbed tele-working via limitless wifi internet, relaxing on sofa watching HD smart tv, cooking and eating according to their schedule inside & outside in the garden, washing their clothes and linen in the washer etc. The paved courtyard & the covered with artificial lawn garden with the two dining tables & BBQS ensure privacy and relax in a quiet place by the side of the sea. Guests have to keep the place neat & clean, to take away the daily garbage & they have to leave the apartment neat without trush at check out. No cleaning service is provided during their stay. Guests are responsible for any loss or damage, so they pay a refundable damage deposit of 200 euros in cash on arrival. They also have to supply their toiletries (soap, toilet paper, shampoo, detergent etc) and food before arrival, because these items are not provided. The host is off, but guests have help in emergency. All guests must show their ID/ passports on arrival and display an e-mail and a mobile number for the communication with the host. Free parking in the central square and elsewhere in the village. The neighborhood is quiet, there are only cottages, no shops and no cars on the alley. Horto is a picturesque seaside village far away from mass tourism, commercial & vehicles hustle and bustle. The name of the village is originated from the latin word hortus= garden due to the verdure. The house is ideal for family vacations, particularly for children because of the calm and child friendly waters of Pagasitikos gulf. The short and long term stay ensures the sea and mountain leisure break, privacy and tranquility in a verdant & quiet place by the side of the sea. Guests drive to many nearby villages of Pelion, famous for the traditional architecture and the squares with the enormous centuries-old plane trees, hike on ā€œcalderimiaā€, traditional paved paths into the lush vegetation and running waters and swim in the wavy but clear as a crystal Aegean sea or sunbath on the long sandy beaches there. They visit also the antiquities in the surroundings of the city of Volos and the famous tsipouradika, taverns serving tsipouro, a kind of ouzo, with sausage and sea food. In Horto and in the nearby villages the seaside taverns and restaurants serve fresh fish and local meals. In August & September concerts & dances take place in the cosy outdoor theater of the village and at the fests of nearby villages. Horto is connected to the villages and to the city of Volos by public transport and is served by taxidrivers.
