"The Schloßschenke is a beautiful hotel conveniently in the heart of Idar-Oberstein. There are plenty of shops and restaurants all in within easy walking distance and the staff is very friendly and helpful. The hotel restaurant was undergoing renovation but a very nice continental breakfast was included and served in the smaller dining area. Parking is a little bit of an issue as in most cities but the hotel had free parking at a reserved parking area only 300 meters from the hotel. I would stay...

"A lovely, well-equipped house in a stunning location with its own fabulous garden. Brilliant for our family group of 10. Lots to do locally. The gem museum, gem mine, Celtic settlement were great trips and the open-air swimming pool in Rhaunen was much enjoyed. We visited Herrstein twice! Klaus and Anna were really helpful hosts. "Tolle Landschaft, traumhafte Ruhe und viele schöne Ausflugsmöglichkeiten in der Nähe. Der Ausblick in die Ferne ist einfach wunderschön, die Gastgeber sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. "Property description was fairly accurate. Previous comments regarding the rough towels were true. We also bought towels at the store for use. There were not enough beddings and should be updated; they were worn and not at all comfortable. The kitchen table could also be updated."
