Great unit! Poor Communication. Overbearing & Inconsiderate Owner!
Great location, very well maintained, great bikes! Unfortunately, very little info about the restrictive use of the premises which caused lots of tension with the owner. The owner lives above the apartment (watching your every move), harassing family members, and caring very little about how his dogs interact with guests. Multiple times being chased back into the apartment by aggressive dogs running down the steps, growling, and trying to attack. It made coming and going extremely stressful, to a point my daughter was afraid to leave the apartment. Owner's explanation-"Dogs are left out when he leaves". Really?? I very directly told him, "We are not on your schedule and we should not have to worry about getting bit trying to leave." Very inconsiderate. There are also so many restrictions which were not listed on the booking site. The upstairs balcony is apparently off-limits. Nowhere is it listed, no signs on the stairs, etc. We were initially told by the owner “Due to COVID", but we could use if we let him know. Ok. Seems reasonable. But later, told the upstairs is NEVER available to guests. Which is it? We were also unable to use the clothesline to dry our bathing suits, despite all the other units having access to a clothesline. After 6 days, I inquired with VaCasa about clean towels and was told I should take them to the laundry service in the village, or pay an additional $20 USD for clean towels. Then out the blue, a cleaning lady arrives. Unannounced, providing clean towels, and mentioned we should have been informed that she comes every 6 days. Overall lack of communication and very little help from the management company. Constant barking dogs, all day and night. Confronted owner multiple times, who stated the unit is no longer going to be rented, as if that had anything to do with our stay. Just ridiculous!
