Rural Holiday Cottage with Wonderful Countryside Views on Friendly Smallholding.

We converted Golden Square Cottage from an old dairy. The cottage was designed to make the most of the amazing views from our hill top position. The view from the bedrooms and the large private deck are really special.

The cottage is in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The cottage is in a great location for walking and exploring the Blackdown Hills and the Jurassic Coast is within easy reach for great days on the seafront.

Finished to a high standard, with every detail carefully thought out. We've tried to be as environmentally friendly as possible, installing solar panels to provide hot water, using responsibly sourced wood for the windows and doors made by a local craftsman, and using eco friendly paints and finishings wherever possible. As even rural areas are moving with the times we now have a Fibre Broadband connection at the cottage.

Wonderful location.
This property is located in a very picturesque setting. We found it very easy to find using the postal code in the owner’s directions. We found the home very clean, well stocked and comfortable. The location was a great base from which we explored the area.

Excellent cottage stay
The cottage is really nice and cosy, feels like home. Stunning view over the hills and village, looks like a Christmas card scene with light fog and smoke from a nearby house. Brilliant log fire. The hosts were really friendly. Perfect experience.

We enjoyed staying at Golden Sq. The kids enjoyed playing in the garden, exploring the outdoor spaces and playing/feeding the goats. Not far from a number of beaches, local area is lovely. Really enjoyed it. Thanks guys

Lovely well equipped cottage in a quiet and peaceful location, but has easy access to many places and attraction. Rob the owner - was a mine of information of places to see, pubs, shopping etc Cottage clean and has all the facilities you need.

We had a fantastic stay, the hosts greeted us on arrival which was lovely. The cottage had everything we needed and plenty big enough for a family of four. A relaxing and quiet place to stay
Excellent. Decking area great for morning sun. Good views Good easy to use Log burning stove, not that the cottage was cold as has CH. Comfortable beds. Good layout of cottage. On site parking by cottage, handy to unload if wet. Good access to main roads, no bumpy gravel farm tracks to cope with. On site grounds to explore, with various animals to watch.

Devon Experience
We stayed here for a week and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The cottage was clean, warm and comfortable (we were there in November) with all the amenities required. It is located in a rural setting so peaceful and quiet at night. It is well located for exploring the Jurassic and Devon coastlines as well as Dartmoor and we even ventured up to Bath for the day - no problems. There are numerous walks to choose from complemented by any number of friendly pubs (can recommend the Tucker's Arms in Dalwood!). A most enjoyable experience!

We have stayed at this farm-house previously and very much enjoyed it. This time, we took our young dog with us. The walks are great, although hilly, and the countryside surrounding this very rural spot is very quiet. However, it is not too far from Honiton, and a little further, the coasts of Lyme Regis, Seaton & Sidmouth. Lovely clean, well kept and extremely well equipped accommodation, and the owners on site in their own house are very friendly and helpful, but will leave you alone to get on with your break. We will go again, as most places and resorts are dog friendly, as is the holiday home. Highly recommended.

Delightful Rural Cottage
Golden Square Cottage is a delightful rural cottage set high above rolling farmland on the edge of the Blackdown hills, with extensive views across the East Devon AONB and into south Somerset. The cottage is well appointed, warm and comfortable. A wood-burning stove adds a warming touch, and considerable heat, for visits during colder months. A deck provides visitors with an outside area for star-gazing or summer evening relaxation. The hosts were very accommodating and made sure our stay was very comfortable. If you are looking for an out-of-the-way quiet countryside retreat for a weekend, or a base for a summer holiday close to the south Devon coast, this is the place for you. Highly recommended.

Nice Cottage in rural landscape and very friendly hosts
We had a two weeks stay in this Cottage with two adults and two children. The floor space was absolute sufficient for us. All rooms were very clean and tidy. The Arrangement of rooms was perfect for our stay. The Equipment was useful, especially the kitchen enabled us to cook from time to time. The terrace was ready for BBQ. The location of the Cottage is very silent, there is only a small road with small traffic. Rob and Kath gave us a warm welcome and during our stay they looked for us if they could give us any assistance. We enjoyed our stay and recommend this accommodation to people who like it silent and rural. For a visit in this area we clearly would book this Cottage again.
