"Excellent!! Quiet, spa like ambience. Serene and beautiful!! The food is excellent, the staff are fantastic and supplied us with everything we needed!! Grocery store directly across the street for any items you may need. The spa is wonderful!!! We loved the indoor heated pool as it was a bit too chilly to swim outside although the outdoor infinity pool is gorgeous!! We loved our stay!!! "

"This is a fantastic property. It is beautiful, well located and unique. The room was perfect and the attention we received was excellent. We were permitted early check-in which completely changed our trip in the most positive way. Staff were great, super friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was wonderful, and was different everyday. 10/10 would recommend!!"

"This is a wonderful place to stay! We arrived a little early but they were able to accommodate us. They gave us a tour and made us feel welcomed. The breakfast each morning was plentiful and delicious. The staff was attentive and helpful. Duarte helped us book a whale watch and warned us we needed to book the thermal spring baths ahead of time. The room was clean and comfortable. I liked being able to open the windows. We could hear the ocean surf when we didn't hear the neighborhood dogs barking. We were pleasantly surprised to have shared access to a balcony with chairs and a table. Watching the sunset with a bottle of wine we purchased from the hotel was a great way to end the day. They had a decent selection of wines to choose from. The heated outdoor pool was enjoyable and the grounds were well kept. It was super nice to have kitchen access with an assigned shelf in the fridge and a cabinet with plates and glasses to use. It was clean, modern and equipped with whatever utensils you needed to cook or reheat a meal. There were 2 grocery stores within walking distance. It was a short walk to town and the beach. Parking was off street and easy. The location was central for exploring Sao Miguel. We stayed a week and were very satisfied. We highly recommend the Volcanic Charming House! "

"The quality and size of the “apartments” (they’re basically houses, it’s great) is phenomenal for the price. To have a private back deck, many air conditioners, a kitchen, a nice bathroom, FOUR sets of sliding doors.. it was great. Friendly cats run the grounds, par for the course in Europe. Parking is a little tight and it’s in a quaint area of the island but those very small “negatives” are so heavily outweighed by the friendliness of staff, 24 hour pool and big clean rooms that it’s barely worth mentioning. I’d recommend this place to anybody. My one real and only gripe is to access the property the first time it’s a hassle. It’s a private gate and everyone gets a remote, but when you’re first arriving you need to call. It’s not well labelled where you need to go either. Besides that it’s perfect. We will be returning."
