"This property is a doorway to nature's paradise. Being set in jungle with an open living theme there is nothing to not love about Congo bongo. The cry of howler monkeys at 4am followed by the jungle waking up to the evening cry of the toucan nature is all around. The ambience is complimented by the warmth and friendliness of the people who call this place home."

"Jenny was a fantastic host! Woke up to a morning after pouring rain on departure day and she met us at the ATV with towels to dry the seats to help as we were in a rush. The place was beautiful and we will definitely return."

"This is great bang for your buck! Simple accommodations but clean and with everything you need, central location in a beautiful quiet town, lots of great local food walking distance away, and beautiful secluded beaches across the road. Would definitely recommend! "

"The host was friendly and gracious. The house is a bit better than the photos. If you have problems climbing stairs though, that will be an issue because they're a bit steep, but for location you can't beat this place! It's literally 100 feet from the beach, and you can hear the waves from the bedroom. There's no better location anywhere."

"The staff was super responsive and hotel gave an excellent jungle experience. I will say the location was deceptive. The map looks like its in Cahuita when its actually a 45 minute drive away in Punta Uva. Also you must pay for your stay in cash or they will charge an exorbitant credit card fee."

"Our stayat..Olguita's place was wonderful Renaldo and his wife Isis were very nice and helpful They educated us on the area and history of their home. We were treated to fresh fruits and an educational walk of the property by our hosts. We loved the sound of the oceans waves breaking on the beach and the sounds of the forest. "I had booked two nights and ended up staying four because I liked it there so much. The rustic cabins are decently sized- I was alone- and clean. There's a bed, a small kitchen area, bathroom, and TV. It's located about 2-3 km from Puerto Viejo. I walked to town for the exercise and enjoyment and it's about 1/2 hour walk. "If you don't mind a big pile of sand just out your front door and a swimming pool hole work in progress right out your back door plus dust and construction noise all day long. I did mind this and could only handle one night there because they would not allow me to cancel the first night. This property as not suitable for guests until the construction project is completed!"

"My husband and I stayed 5 days at Casa Verde. We had a very relaxing time there. The town is very small and everything is in walking distance. However, if you get a lot at the bigger grocery store, you might want to ask for them to deliver it for you. The beach is very close by. We bought two beach chairs to use while we were there and left them for others to use since there weren’t any. A few things to know: First, this house is very basic, just the essentials, no extras. Perfect for a honeymoon!

"We had a wonderful time during our stay here - it was a great place for our honeymoon and we would highly recommend it to anyone else looking for a romantic spot with some privacy and also accessible to all that Puerto Viejo has to offer. The complimentary breakfast provided went above and beyond expectations. Extra shout out to all of the employees who were very helpful and provided great service throughout our stay :) "

"Beautiful jungle atmosphere. Wildlife animals observed on the property. Great drinks at the bar. Breakfast buffet and dinner was delicious. Walking distance to the beach and other restaurants. The family cabin had a wonderful patio and hammocks. I would’ve preferred adults only. It was almost impossible to be in the swimming area near the wet bar with so many kids present. Most of the vendors on the beach only accepted colones. I would suggest you get money exchanged from the airport or the national bank in Costa Rica ATM does colones. Tips are accepted for room service and meals. Laundry was outstanding! We received our laundry same day service. "

Perfect

"Eric & Sharon were lovely. They have built an incredible property. The villas are absolutely perfect. We truly enjoyed learning about all of the plants and animals on their property. They have two beautiful dogs, 6 cats, and a resident sloth named Pearl. Breakfast is delicious. The "secret path" to the beach is delightful. Several of Eric's recommendations were spot on! Make sure to go to Lidia's restaurant. (Yellow curry shrimp was primo!) And definitely ask about an outing with Alex. You will learn all about his farm, see many animals, and kayak to the beach. It was our favorite outing! Thank you Eric and Sharon. We will definitely return!"

Beautiful accommodations

"Great boutique hotel, walking distance to all the amenities Puerto Viejo has to offer. We had a bungalow with our own pool which was fabulous. Service was excellent, as was breakfast which was included. My only complaint...two cappuccinos cost $18 CAD...ridiculous..."
