Great location in a country-like setting but less than a few miles to local grocery store, gas station, Dollar General-they have practically everything, Subway, McDonalds, Dunkin Donuts, Walgreens, 7-11, gas station and more. Walmart is about 5 miles away and town is just a tad further. The house is on a cul-da-sac that ends at the water on a corner lot w/intersecting canals. Canal leads to Chassahowitzka River and 7 Sisters Springs. The Springs are located very close to the house via the canal at the entrance to the river on the right. See the moon like craters with some springs that are open to a neighboring spring. Watch as visitors swim thru one crater and come up in another. Be sure to see “The Crack” while on the river-I call it the blue lagoon. The house has a full yard with 2 docks-both have lower docks off main docks to access kayaks/canoe, a small boathouse & comes w/4 kayaks & 1 canoe to save you renting them but if you need more, rentals are only a few blocks away at the Chassahowitzka River Campground with boat launch or the Chassahowitzka Lodge/bar. Make sure you bring or wear life jackets on board as they are required by law. Life jackets are located in screened in room off back of house. See pics of 12' culvert that boats must traverse to from house to river-there is a map in the house on how to get to river.
The house has 2 bedrooms, 1 with 1 double bed & 1 twin bed the mermaid room. It also has access to the main bathroom from the bedroom and a TV. The other bedroom has a King canopy bed. Master king bedroom has full bath with a garden style tub/shower combo and it’s own TV.
The house sleeps 5 in beds and up to 8 with 1 on each of the 2 couches in living room, and 1 on the fold out floor futon located in the master bedroom closet. Additional linens/pillows/blankets provided. There is an extra nightly guest fee for each guest over 5.
Fully stocked kitchen w/everything you need-all the dishes/pots-n-pans, silverware, glasses, drip coffee maker, microwave, blender, toaster, etcetera. Gas bbq in carport.
Wi-Fi and streamed TV in living room and both bedrooms, & dvd player so you can always play a movie, some dvd's provided in home. DVD player can be moved from room to room if necessary.
If you bring a boat, other than a canoe or kayak or anything you can't carry, you will need to put it in at the boat launch and in order to bring it back to the house, your boat will need to be able to fit thru the 12" culvert. Water is shallow, especially at low tide. Pontoons that are not deck boats usually fit, you have to lower the top, lower the fishing rods and bimini tops. The pics show the passage. Most boats can put in 4 blocks away at the Chassahowitzka River Campground launch, larger boats can put in at McRae's on Halls River Road on the Homosassa River. There is room to store your boat and trailer at the house on the property. Hope that helps. Call the Chassahowitzka River Campground if you have questions regarding boats on the river. Parking at the house is limited to carport and driveway noting that only half of the driveway belongs to my lot, the other half belongs to the neighbor. Please do not block neighbors access to road. A limit of 3 (or maybe 4 depending on size) maximum total vehicles will fit.
The Seven Sisters Springs are on your right as you come out of the canals at the beginning of the river heading towards the Gulf. It is really beautiful and truly "Old Florida" setting. Great place to park the kayaks and swim in the crystal clear spring water. Some of the springs connect and you can swim through them and come up in the next spring. The river is shallow and runs about 5 miles to the Gulf of Mexico. Beautiful serene views the entire way with lots of wildlife and nature to see. Manatees and dolphins are in the river as well as in the canals. Lots to explore.

Note that the house is a doublewide mobile home, clean, cute & comfortable and has everything you need minus food & personal items. It is not fancy. Not rustic, but not modern or Hilton-like. My guests come for the peace and quiet and to enjoy nature, the river and the explore the area. If you are looking for modern or fancy please keep looking. Property looks like it is depicted in the photos and described. Please see the photos and read the captions. Read the reviews to get a better feel for the property. Note that I can’t make everyone happy. Some people just need to complain. As you can see from my 4.8 (out of 5) star rating, the majority love it here. I’m sure if you stay here, you won’t be disappointed. I have another vacation rental in Weeki Wachee about 20 minutes South of the Chaz for next time or even this time. Check them out. They also are highly rated. Thank you for your interest and enjoy your stay.
