"Lovely stay , staff super friendly. Food excellent "

"I would like to have given 5 star for service as when we ordered food from the bar the staff were attentive, polite and very friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. However earlier in the evening I called the restaurant from the room to book a table, when I had only said hello I was met with a very abrupt ‘the line is terrible’ to which I stated ‘I’m sorry I’m calling from one of the phones in the rooms’. I then proceeded to request a table and again very abruptly told we have nothing until 8.30/8.45. I really felt like it was too much trouble and didn’t feel welcomed at all. I booked the table initially for 6 people, we were I fact part of a lager group of around 20 people staying at the hotel for an event we were attending the next day. Having spoke to the other people in the party we decided against it and ate from the bar instead. I would not recommend anyone to book to dine at the restaurant based on this encounter. Also may I add that most of the tables were not occupied from around 7pm until the time we were told we could eat from so I don’t understand why we couldn’t get a reservation either. Very disappointing experience. "

"We had a fabulous stay in the Ancient Unicorn. We were a family of 4 and also had our dog with us. We stayed in the Charles Dickens Cottage and it was outstanding. When we arrived, the cottage was warm and welcoming. The kitchen was well-equipped. The breakfast was delicious and the staff were super friendly. The location is great for exploring the area. We look forward to coming back in the future."

"Stayed in the Eskeleth room - eccentric decor that feels luxurious. Nice views of the dales in a commanding position by the green in Reeth. Breakfast very good with lots of choice. Also had an evening meal which was very good as well. Staff very helpful and attentive. Parking on site. Would recommend for a short stay in the Dales."

"Perfect weekend. Proposed to my beautiful fiancée within Walworth castle & it couldn’t have went any better.. 3 course meal was 10/10 Library tower for tea was also 10/10 Definitely recommend for anyone wanting a romantic night/weekend with the other half"
