Main level has two bedrooms - one with a queen bed and one with full as well as a queen sleeper in the adjacent family room. Full bath on this floor adds to convenience. Upper level opens to bright and spacious living area. Sliders opening to deck with outdoor dining area and gas grill. Skylight and breakfast bar in kitchen make for a perfect spot for your morning coffee. Master bedroom on this floor has a queen bed and separate full bath. Wood floors and vaulted ceiling add to the character and open feel of this charming cottage.

Walk down the private drive to beach access and enjoy the day on the lakeshore. Take advantage of the miles of bike trails leading to additional public access points and parks. Award winning downtown Holland Michigan is just a 15 minute drive and Downtown Grand Haven just 20. Holland State Park is a 10 minute drive and a great spot to spend the day and hike out on the pier and watch the boats entering the Channel to Lake Macatawa.

Please note there IS Lake Michigan access in place at this property. As many have done, the owners have placed large sandbags along the home's shoreline to mitigate further beach erosion due to high Lake Michigan water levels. That said, even with the sandbags in place, the water is easily accessible by climbing down or up the "step-like" configuration of the sandbags. See photos for detail.

The place was exceptionally clean, had good space for 6 of us, and beds were comfortable. The walk to the beach was easy and not a problem at all. The beach was amazing and quiet. Being a private beach it was not crowded or busy at all. The house feels very secluded in the trees, but is a great location to bike path or to go to Holland/Grand Haven."

Just what we needed

Closer to beach than it appears in the video. Comfortable and cute. Grand haven is good to be near to. The only thing we did not like was the late check in and very early (10 am) check out. Very inconsistent w other properties we’ve rented up and down the coast for over 15 years.

This is a cute property in a nice, quiet location. However, there are some things that should be addressed. First, we had a tough time finding the driveway in the dark. The house number was not readily visible at the road. The kitchen is reasonably stocked, but pots and pans need to be replaced as they are old, scratched Teflon. There were also both small and carpenter ants in the home. We had to purchase ant baits to keep them at bay. Finally, this property is not lakefront/waterfront. The driveway is shared with another larger home that is on the lake and blocks any direct view. Beach access is through the entry walkway and patio of this other home.

Friendly and very welcoming owners of a carriage house that has a lovely upper living room and bedroom. The bottom floor is quite outdated. Access to the lake is easy, though guests share space with the owners, which made it feel a little less private than I prefer. Overall, an ok stay.

Family time!
We loved the “back house” we stayed in! It was more like a cottage and we liked the older feel! My biggest concern with rentals ( even before the pandemic) is cleanliness and this was super clean. The cottage was well stocked. I imagine they might normally have had games available for guests but because of Covid-19 did not. The description of the rental did advise that the beaches in Michigan have been severely compromised by high waters but I didn’t understand that we wouldn’t be able to swim from the property. I also didn’t understand from the description that we would be as removed from the lake as we were. Bottom line... you’re in the back house... no view of the lake. Having said that, we truly enjoyed our time there!

Check for ticks!
Took a trip with 3 of my girlfriends. We had lots of fun doing things around Holland. The beach access was very disappointing. We were also promised beach chairs and there wasn’t any. The house itself was nice, except we had some weird things with our phones happening. I do recommend checking yourself for ticks on a nightly basis. The first night there after walking to the “beach area” I found a tick on me. After that we were kind of scared to walk there again. Overall it was a great vacation and lots of memories were made.

Great family rental
We had a great time at our stay on this property. The 2nd floor was a great place for our family to hang out in. There was everything we needed (and more!) to make us feel at home. Including everything you could ever need in a kitchen for cooking, beach towels to use, soap/shampoo in bathrooms, etc. The beaches of Holland were just a short drive away which was perfect for our beach-living family. The washer and dryer were very helpful too! Unfortunately the water levels are so high that there was not really a beach at this property (but we kind of figured that going into it, since most of W Michigan is in the same “boat”). Thank you for a great stay!

Had a great stay!
We enjoyed the home. Very clean and comfortable. The AC worked great and the beds were comfy. The laundry room was also nice. Our stay coincided with high lake levels due to a lot of rain. The beach is doable but there wasn't much sand to set up camp. This was true for all the properties along that part of Lake Michigan -including some of the public beaches.

Summer family vacation
Perfect location! Short walk to Lake Michigan beach. Due to beach erosion throughout this area of West Michigan, the approach down to the actual beach was challenging, but doable even with little kids and lots of beach gear. The sandy beach space was small but very private. The water was shallow, warm and clear- perfect for swimming! The house was comfortable and well maintained. We especially appreciated the ceiling fans and AC for warm muggy nights. Thanks for a great stay:-)

The ants were not a happy sight. We were appreciative of the coffee maker. It was somewhat deceptive with the pictures & not saying that the house we would be staying in would not have the beach/lake view. Thank you.

Gorgeous house with the perfect location!
We recently stayed here with our two children (5 & 2) and had an absolutely wonderful time! It’s hard to imagine a vacation with 2 small children being relaxing but thanks mostly to this property, it was! The house not only had everything we could possibly need during our stay, it was gorgeous! Whoever decorated it and equipped it with the “necessities” did so as if it were their own home, not just a rental. Our children loved riding their bikes on the long private drive and we especially enjoyed the easy beach access! The beach by the home was perfect for our kids as it was shallow very far out so they could really play in the water without us having to worry too much. The location of the home was also great! Everywhere we wanted to visit during our stay was within a few minutes drive of the home! The check-in and check-out was also incredibly convenient for us. I really can’t say enough good things about this rental! If we ever visit Holland again this is the place we will hope to stay again!!

Located about 1000 feet from the Lake. Very well equipped kitchen and the 3 decks came with nice furniture and a wonderful gas grill. Bike/walking paths right outside the door. Our family had a wonderful visit!

Adorable beach cottage with very private, quiet beach. Remote location and perfect for us.
Such a cute cottage just a 1 minute walk down private driveway to our own private beach. Nice deck for meals and comfy living room to gather in the evenings. Close to restaurants and walking/ biking paths. We will rent again!
