Summary:
Previously known as 'Bahr's Chocolate Shop and Milk Bar', or simply 'The Lollyshop' to locals - this beautifully renovated and furnished apartment in historic Battery Point is only a 2 minute walk to bustling Salamanca Place. Complete with an off-street parking space, sunny deck and WiFi, explore the best of Hobart from this terrific space so conveniently positioned in Hobart's finest suburb. Also available for booking is the upstairs apartment, capable of accommodating a further 6 guests.
The Space:
Situated on Hampden Road in the heart of historic Battery Point is this newly renovated two bedroom apartment. The property was previously known as 'Bahr's Chocolate Shop and Milk Bar' and has now been converted into two modern apartments and a commercial tenancy out front. The wonderful retro signage out front has been heritage listed and retained.
The apartment itself is compact with 2 bedrooms each furnished with a queen bed and storage space for your luggage. The living area is open plan with a fully-equipped kitchen and a long dining bench for meals. A private alfresco area extends off the living room and enjoys sunshine throughout the day - the perfect place for a glass of wine at the end of the day.
The bathroom is fitted with a walk-in shower and small laundry with a washing machine/dryer combo.
As a bonus (and very rare in Battery Point), you will have access to 1 x off-street parking space for the duration of your stay.
Please note there is another apartment upstairs which can accommodate up to 6 guests in case you have a large group travelling together. Please message us if you would like to book both and we can check availability.
Guest Access:
The apartment and parking space is all yours for the duration of your stay.
The Neighborhood:
Take in the local sights of inner-city Hobart on foot. Hampden Road features boutiques, restaurants, and renowned bakery Jackman & McRoss. Salamanca Place is a 2-minute walk away, with the wharf precinct and ferry to MONA only a few minutes further.
Getting Around:
Public transport is only metres away, however getting around on foot is the best option. Alternatively, hire a car and park it off-street next to the apartment.
Other Things to Note:
There is one other apartment in the old Lollyshop building (upstairs). A pizza restaurant operates from the adjacent commercial tenancy (fronting Hampden Road). The entry to the Little Lollyshop apartment is private and the outdoor deck is exclusively for the guests staying at the apartment.
Interaction with Guests:
Guests are left in private to enjoy the apartment, however we are only a message or phone call away if you have any issues or questions during your stay.
