The Space:
Nestled in the heart of downtown Hobart, this charming 2-bedroom cottage invites you to step back in time while enjoying all the modern amenities you could desire. Originally built in 1900, this historic home has been lovingly restored and furnished to offer a comfortable and luxurious stay for up to 6 guests.
This house is full of character and natural light, perfect for a cozy getaway in the heart of Hobart. Sitting on the bench at the front door, enjoying a glass of Tasmanian wine or morning tea while taking in the impressive views of kunanyi/Mount Wellington. The various potted plants in the house bring it to life. The living room is the perfect place to unwind after a long day of exploring the city, air conditioning can quickly heat up during the cold Hobart winter, and enjoy high-speed NBN internet and stream your favorite shows on Netflix, or cozy up on the sofa bed with a good book. The tastefully designed kitchen is fully equipped and light-filled. With windows that can act as a servery to the patio for outside entertaining, you'll have everything you need to whip up a delicious meal or enjoy a morning cup of coffee in the sun. Both bedrooms are equipped with comfortable Queen sized beds, with high-quality linens for a comfortable night's sleep, Sofa bed in the study room is prepared for your extra need.
The location could not be more convenient, with Hill Street grocer mere seconds from the doorstep and many excellent cafes within walking distance, the popular 'Bear with Me' and "Ginger Brown" cafe both only a 3 minute walk away. Right on the fringe of the city, you can stroll into Hobart city center, Salamanca, or the MONA ferry in about 20 minutes (or less than $15 in an UBER/taxi). In addition to a post office, chemist, and many restaurants and food purveyors, the cottage is only minutes from the Cascade Brewery and Cascades Female Factory historic site.
Guest Access:
Guests have the entire cottage to themselves for their stay and are encouraged to make themselves at home.
If you require a porta cot this is available on request at the time of booking.
We left a bicycle, it's a bit old but it can still help you get around the city.
