"Last minute booking and what a great little find. Room was spacious and beds comfortable with tea and coffee facilities. Shower was pretty low pressure but got us all clean and in all we had a great stay. Location is brilliant, 10 mins walk to the beach and 15/20 mins walk into Whitby centre. Only downside is no breakfast available but plenty of places in Whitby for this. "

"My top floor room with dormer window had great views out to sea - the payoff being 73 internal stairs in addition to the dozen from street level! I'd previously stayed at this property so was aware of the stairs and the property owner Emma also messaged me at the time of booking to check that there were no mobility issues. After a minor issue around check-in times, I was able to quickly settle in and found my room to be clean and comfortable with good quality bedding and a generous refreshments...

"Absolutely wonderful place. Very comfortable room, toiletries is bathroom, all the tea, coffee and hot chocolate you want. Great sized TV as well as desk and comfy chair. Beautifully decorated. Fridge, microwave, plates etc. in downstairs hall as well as extra sugar, tea etc. Lots of parking. Absolutely loved it. Handy for beach , fish and chip shops, ice cream etc. 10 minutes drive to Hartlepool. Excellent. "

"The Europa was easy to find and we parked right outside it, we were given a warm welcome and all the required information about keys / breakfast etc, our room was lovely and spacious, it was scrupulously clean as was the bathroom and had everything you could want. The bed was comfortable and we both had a good nights sleep, plenty of hot water in the shower and the breakfast was delicious. I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel and if back in Whitby I will certainly like to return."

"Paul and Julia run a lovely house. They were welcoming and helpful. Our room was spacious and well appointed, with a lovely new shower. The bus stop is right out the front door and Pannett Park with its Whitby museum are within a 2 minute walk. Town is less than 10 minutes on foot. Breakfast was wonderful each day and my only regret is not planning a longer stay! "

When I managed to reach the responsible person, they sounded frustrated on the phone, as if it was my fault they hadn't fulfilled their responsibilities properly The advertisement was ambiguous, and I wasn't aware that the bathroom was separate. "Recently returned from a short break at Wildgoose Cottage. The cottage is deceptively spacious, warm and comfortable with a well equipped kitchen. It is ideally situated just off the Cleveland Way to walk into Whitby, a flat walk approx 45-50 minutes or to Robin Hoods Bay a more undulating walk approx 2.5 hours, both with fantastic views.
