Lavish Sanctuary with Hot Tub and 5 Star Features

Welcome to our Sanctuary, a beautifully appointed home on 10-acres in the Hudson Valley that is ready to host your family gathering, friend group, retreat, workshop, or as an Artist in Residency' perfectly suited for the magic of each season.

Your decompression begins before you even arrive, as you make your way through the gentle winding roads, passing farmhouses, silos, and corn fields. When you pull into the long, forested driveway, you are truly transported into timeless tranquility.

A long winding drive leads to this modern hideaway, offering peace, privacy and pastoral views. This 10-acre property consists of the main house, an independent two-bedroom guest suite above an oversized garage (offered as a separate listing (titled "Charming Guest House Secluded in Nature"), a garden shed, and a huge Ceremonial Tipi (teepee).

The post-and-beam main house features fine materials and unique touches throughout. A beautiful bluestone patio brings you to the entry porch. You enter your personal door code and walk in the entryway where your shoes come off and your relaxation begins.

Our favorite feature on this floor is the wraparound upper deck with additional seating for 8. It is a perfect way to take in the magic of the changing leaves overlooking the Hudson Valley at sunset. As a visiting Appalachian Blues man said after blowing his harmonica at sunrise, "This whole place really is made for music, its a perfect slice".

The open living/dining/kitchen is very spacious, well-appointed, and VERY comfortable. Completely relax with our cathedral ceilings, radiant heated cherry floors, multiple picture windows in a living room that is anchored by a grand stone fireplace with all the supplies to enjoy a toasty fire and take in the majestic west-facing views of the Taconic Range.

When my son walked into the wide open chef's kitchen (complete with Wolf stove, 2 ovens, Subzero fridge/freezer, a Wolfgang Puck toaster oven, and serving for 20) he said, "DAD! What the... REALLY? this is my DREAM kitchen!!".

Play some music on the Sonos while making yourself at home making dinner on the stone tile counters.

The first-floor primary suite redefines the meaning of a spacious primary suite: it has a King-size bed, Chest of drawers, sound system, glass doors to private deck, perfect for our morning coffee and meditation. A TV/sleeping alcove with a trundle bed, and a two-part bathroom with stone tile shower and soaking tub-with-a-view.

The upstairs features two bedrooms with cathedral ceilings, A/C, and share a cool Jack-and-Jill bathroom.

Entering the bright, walk-out lower level, another splendid "realm" awaits you, with radiant-heated "stone" flooring throughout. A wonderful family room with TV, Sonos (controlled upstairs) features another stone fireplace, huge glass doors to a bluestone patio, and custom bar with reverse osmosis ice maker, full-size sub-zero fridge & wine cooler. Two more beautiful bedrooms, each with access to the patio, share a bath. The utility room and laundry are also found on this level.

The house features smart thermostats, alarm system, built-in sound throughout, cutting edge Exhale fans, and the best high-efficiency mechanicals. Split units provide air conditioning.

Come experience the magic of this special place. And if you are drawn to explore beyond, it's only minutes to Copake Lake, Hillsdale, Catamount Ski, and other Columbia County attractions, and only 20 minutes to Great Barrington and all the Southern Berkshires has to offer.

Great Weekend Getaway
We very much enjoyed our stay. The number of beds and bedrooms was ideal for a large group. Everyone was able to sleep comfortably. Despite the hot temperatures outside, the house was very comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked and perfect for home cooked meals. It's also really convenient to Copake Lake, where we rented a pontoon boat for the day.

This was a lovely and special home and wonderful for our 3-generation stay.
The home and grounds were meticulously maintained and clean. The kitchen was well appointed and there were many thoughtful touches, like holiday decor. The location made day trips to Great Barrington and Hudson very easy. Beautiful views, peaceful environment.

Pretty setting but experience did not meet expectations.
The property manager and owner were very accommodating and helpful, but the house felt like we were supposed to be at a tantra yoga retreat instead of a family holiday. Online pictures were not current and did not display sleeping arrangements or furniture accurately. Although the kitchen was spacious and well equipped, our family of 11 did not have enough seating or sleeping space. The artwork and books were not appropriate for children. This would be a beautiful place for adult couples.

Magical getaway upstate!!!
This is one of the most magical homes I've ever been in! There is something really sacred and special about the property that awakened something so deep within me. I felt inspired to create retreats and family gatherings here since it feels so cozy and private. The home is modern and clean and also feels really cozy and comfortable which is so important for anyone traveling for a weekend or month long stay. And the hosts are SO helpful and thoughtful I didn't have to think about a thing!

Exceptional property, host, and experience
I rented both listings on the property (cottage and main house,) and it was beautiful to have the quiet and solitude. The hot tub at the main house was a perfect way to relax at the end of the day - looking at the gorgeous view from the deck.
