Travelling with a family of 6 - we stayed at Gavin and Lyn's hideaway in Nubeena. Perfectly located for those interested in Port Arthur, Cape Raoul, Shipstern, Cape Huay, and Eaglehawk neck (We did them all). A perfect balance of classic (wood fireplace, comfy beds/bedding, etc) and modern amenities (rainforest shower, heated bathroom floors, wifi, etc). On sunny days, we were on walks and on rainy days we took advantage of the puzzle collection, where's Wally collection, and Encyclopedias in front of the wood burning fireplace. (There's netflix, etc if that's your thing). Our younger ones loved the lambs in the paddock. We didn't take advantage of the secret path down to White beach (but we will next time). Fresh cut flowers when we walked in (I'll give credit to Lyn for that - sorry Gav), a place to wash muddy hiking clothing, and a hot shower to end the day - can't ask for more on your holiday on the peninsula. A fully functional kitchen and outdoor grill for homemade meals (plus a collection of teas/coffee/cereals/bread/milk/butter to get you started). Nubeena has 2 grocery stores, a pharmacy, and a cafe to supplement your holiday. There's a wonderful historic Tasmanian story about the pears, apples, and Benjafield terrace if you pay attention. Gavin was very responsive and helpful to the ensuring the comfort of our large family - we're looking forward to staying with Lyn and Gavin again. From a NYC family transplanted to Hobart - we thank you.
