Honeysuckle Cottage, 2 bed, sleeps 3, family-friendly and pet-friendly
This end terrace cottage sits in a quiet street in the center of the town, just yards from the picturesque canal basin with its colorful boats. The canal towpath runs by, offering miles of easy walking surrounded by the Peak District countryside. Set over three floors, the front entry to the property is on the middle floor where there is a modern lounge with a cosy wood burning stove. Downstairs the dining kitchen including dishwasher, fridge freezer and washer dryer with access via a barn door to the paved rear patio with garden furniture, whilst upstairs are the two comfy bedrooms and toilet. An ok stay
There were positives about this property but also some negatives. The house was warm, we enjoyed the wood burner, the beds comfy and the shower good. It was superficially clean but not really clean (the kitchen floor was grimy, so too all the edges and corners of the rooms), the nearby road was noisy with the bedroom window open at night and the house lacked some basics (no mop for said kitchen floor, no tea towels or dish cloths which we ended up buying just for the stay). It lacked the extras that make a stay more special and welcoming. Overall a good enough property but not one we’d rush back to.
Lovely property, very well equipped, loved the wood burner, many extras washing up liquid, washing powder , hand wash , logs , fire lighters, toilet roll ect.
Unfortunately to many stairs for me .
