"The staff made the trip. The hotel is in the old geisha neighborhood but within walkable distance of the other attractions : castle, gardens, samurai houses and fish market. Nothing was too much trouble for Mitsu and he helped with restaurants and directions. Kanazawa was great."

"My stay at Stella was amazing. The host, Shuji, was kind enough to make himself available for when I arrived, to make sure the check in process was smooth. The room was spacious and clean. Although men only had one shower to share (there is more than one men’s only toilet), I never waited to use it, nor did I make anyone else. "Beautiful traditional accommodation in historical district of Kanazawa. Very comfortable accommodation. Weather in Kanazawa was inclement and perhaps we should have been warned to bring umbrellas offered by the accommodation. Minor detail but otherwise the staff were super helpful and friendly. Such a beautiful accomodation, loved the stay and would return again. The streets are narrow so the taxis/ cars can only drop you at the closest side street, not at the front door. "Loved our stay in this beautiful and modern hotel. The beds were very comfortable and we were able to walk everywhere due to its great location. Took advantage of the free happy hour in the evening and morning coffee which was very tasty (drip coffee). The onsen is modern. Thank you for a memorable stay @"

Daiwa Roynet Hotel Kanazawa-eki Nishiguchi

"When the words “great hotel” are used, they suggest this place. Our experience was pleasant from beginning to end, starting with a comfortable space to put ourselves in until it was check-in time to the surprise of a room that had more space than we expected, with all the amenities that one could want—to say nothing of the special treats of a bed that was actually comfortable and a breakfast the following morning as a good start to the day (the choices here are more Japanese than Western, so if you are hankering for a bowl of cereal, you’ll be out of luck, but there are plenty of other choices!). If anything cropped up that required special attention on the part of staff, they responded with interest, equanimity, and efficiency. One of the staff went the extra mile to walk us through the check-in process—which was via machine (apparently the thing here in Japan, since we have encountered it virtually everywhere we have stayed)—his going-the-extra-mile effort was much appreciated!! On a scale from 1 to 10, this place is a definite 10. If you can get an accommodation here, grab if!"
