Me and my mom had a wonderful stay hiking and seeing the waterfalls in the area. The cabin was clean and in a great location to see two state parks and the national park.
Loved this cabin! Super cozy and very close to the national park. All of the directions were easy to follow, and we had everything we needed for an enjoyable stay.
The cabin itself was clean well kept. It was located in a peaceful setting that was private but also close to main roads. Great place to go if you want to get away and relax.
Nice and clean cabin in a private and convenient location to explore the area. We had a great weekend. Very private if you’re looking to get away from the campgrounds. Thanks!!
We had such a lovely time, the place was just as described and had a lot of special touches. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, I just wish we could have stayed longer!
We absolutely loved the Cabin! The check in was easy. The cabin was very clean. Plenty of kitchen gadgets. The owner was very prompt to answer any questions we had. The area is absolutely beautiful. Will return some time.
We had a family trip to NRG and needed a bigger place to stay than a bunch of hotel rooms. This cabin was almost the perfect size (the dining table could have been bigger, only seats 4). Lights flickered during a storm but never went out, but we did lose wifi. Wish we'd planned a longer stay to really take advantage of all the amenities. We'll definitely keep it in mind if we plan another trip!
Place is perfect from 2 to 6. We had two of us and our dog and it was phenomenal. I can’t think of anything that was not good there and she was very accommodating and helpful. When we hand couple of questions I highly recommend this place and want to rent it next year. And do it to say for two people the price is good.
This was a great little house with ample space for my family of 5 plus my parents. Good access to Babcock State Park, Summersville, and Fayetteville. The hostess went out of her way to look for my son's wallet too. ❤️
This cabin and hostess was amazing. Plenty of room in the cabin for 1 couple,my sister and brother in law ,a son and myself. Never seen so many towels in a place it was awesome. The back porch deck was incredible was able to sit and watch the deer come up and the chipmonks were pretty awesome too. The firepit out by the side of the cabin was really nice we got to spend 1 night out by the fire. Nicole was very helpful in getting the fireplace going for us,she is a very good hostess I enjoyed meeting her. I hope one day I'll get to go back and visit again.
Four of us feel that the cabin in the woods definitely meant all our expectations. In its quiet, secluded spot, the time we spent there was very relaxing. The cabin was clean and warm. The views from both the front porch and the back porch with simply beautiful with woods in all their glorious color. The fireplace was a welcome accommodation. The beds w were e comfy. The showers were warm. The kitchen was well equipped. Nikki was very prompt in answering any questions we had. It was definitely a five-star experience.
Cabin is just as pictured. Plenty of room for our 4 preteen/teen boys for a 4 day exploration of New River Gorge NP, Gauley River NRA, Babcock SP and Hawks Nest SP. Cabin had everything we needed, Kids loved all the games spaced throughout the cabin for rainy day fun and avoiding screens! Nice back porch for coffee in the mornings. Full kitchen and washer dryer along with working grill and nice firepit for s’mores! Host with quick response to questions. Check in and check out super easy. Would highly recommend and will return!
Lovely property, as described. At night, it gets so quiet and dark, we had a great sleep. The amenities are as described, beds were comfortable. Plenty of games, great if you are traveling with kids. Plenty of yard for the dog to play. Easy checkin. Close to the New River Gorge National Park entrance. I’d like to come back in the fall!
Hints:
-make sure your car or truck has all wheel drive or equivalent; you need good traction to go in / out of the driveway
- the gas station ~1.5 miles away has breakfast options
We enjoyed our stay in the woods. The cabin was clean and had all of the modern comforts. We cooked, used the grill and were happy to throw in a load of laundry! Our kids loved all the games and even enjoyed a screen-free game night one evening. The cabin is close to the national park and many of the adventure companies — we did it all! The area is beautiful!!!
The insulation between the upper loft and bedroom downstairs is non-existent, so we could hear our night owl teens up moving around. Something to keep in mind when determining sleeping locations.
We were pleasantly surprised! The pictures and descriptions online don’t do it justice. There is so much more to the property. Great location! Secluded but close to everything we wanted to do. A few minor things: internet is not reliable. It needed to be restarted about every hour. That made it difficult to plan our day and get directions to places. It rained one night and we wanted to watch a movie. It seemed to be an older tv and There was no way to stream movies or airplay from our iPad so could not use it.
I could not have wishes for a more lovely place to stay with my family. The cabin is secluded but 5-7 minute drive from route 19, the major road to get to New River Gorge NP and Summersville Lake. The place is decorated with taste and is very comfortable. I loved the front ans back porches, with lots of seating. We cooked all of our meals in and we found all we needed for cooking except for the lack of a good size cutting board. The only downside was that there is only one separate bedroom. The other area is on a mezzanine, making it hard for people to sleep there while others are still socializing in the living/dining room.
We had rented a car and I was glad it was a 4 wheel drive as the gravel driveway is sloppy and it may have been hard to get in and out of it.
Overall, this was an idyllic place to stay, roomy for the five of us. I’d rent it again on a heartbeat!
We had 7 in our group and this was big enough for everyone. The loft was perfect for up to 4 kiddos. There are games everywhere! That was like a happy, unexpected surprise! I would say if you're coming in late at night it's very hard to see the turn in and once you find the barn, it's right after that on the left. It was so much easier to go further down and turn around than to make the sharp turn in for the driveway. The owner was very prepared and had extra thoughtful things for guests that aren't usually supplied in a stay, like condiments in the fridge, tea and coffee, and even pads I saw in the bathroom if you needed something and forgot. Only 2 complaints, when we got there it was 30 degrees outside and the cabin was like 55 degrees, but it quickly warmed up. Only other thing, I wish there was basic cable. They had streaming services, but you had to have your own personal login for Netflix or Hulu to watch movies. Other than that, we loved it! Very nice cabin!
Do NOT arrive after dark! It is extremely difficult to find the gravel entrance as the road drops down at a sharp enough angle that you cannot see the driveway from the driver's seat. The owner's directions about signs to look for were helpful, but we had to get out of our car and actually look around (thankfully, we had headlamps) to figure out where the drive way started. It was confusing because there is a second gravel road more visible and close to the correct driveway that we ended up driving down. We texted the owner several times but never received a response until the next day when she explained “she had fallen asleep”. We wondered why she wasn’t a bit concerned about our late arrival despite her request that we text her when we arrive. We had trouble getting the tv to work and the owner was slow to respond to those texts as well.
The property was as described. Rustic, clean, adequately provisioned. The coffeemaker was a bit fussy, and the wrong size filters were provided.
