Waterside Cottage offers lovely views of the mountains and Lake Chatuge. There are plenty of outdoor spaces to enjoy the amazing scenery with a private upstairs balcony, rocking chairs on your front porch, and picnic tables on tue front lawn.
The home is close to town, quaint shops, restaurants and vineyards and is the perfect retreat for small families, seniors, and couples. Sorry, we do not accept requests from parties or groups.
We are pet friendly with a two dog maximum. We require a $150 dog fee for your fur baby to accompany you. If you are bringing a dog, please be sure to select the pet indicator when you submit your booking request. You must notify in advance of your stay to bring a dog.

Located in Hiawassee, GA, you’re close to hiking trails, waterfalls, antique malls, boutiques, golf, and fine and casual dining. We are also very close to three marinas and it’s a real treat to rent a boat and cruise the lake.
Waterside Cottage is walking distance to downtown Hiawassee and in a lakeside neighborhood with no steep mountain roads. Access to the home is via a paved, level road with gentle terrain. It is not remote and there are neighbors close by. It is approximately one mile to HWY 76, a main road that takes you to the entire surrounding area.
Watch the sunset over the lake and roast marshmallows around the firepit while the kids catch fireflies. Enjoy the picturesque views from the front porch and balcony or take a relaxing dip in hot tub. For laid back nights, have a night in watching Netflix from your comfortable living room with a bowl of popcorn!
Waterside Cottage offers the use of our Boat Shed which contains 4 kayaks, and bicycles for added family fun.
There is a preserve area out the front gate and across the quiet road for path access to the lake. The water front is a gradual slope where you can wade out or drop in kayaks, paddle boards, etc. The front porch or lakefront is the perfect place to watch the the boats go by, enjoy a good book or relax in the sun.
Please note: There is not a boat dock available with this rental.
The master bedroom is upstairs with a king sized bed, TV, and a spacious balcony with great views. Also upstairs is the guest bedroom with two twin beds and trundles underneath.
There is one bathroom upstairs, with double sinks, a tub/shower and commode.
Downstairs there is a second master bedroom with a queen bed and new 32” smart TV.
There is one bathroom downstairs with a tub/shower combo. All mattresses were replaced in Nov 2023.
The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking with pots/pans, dishware, utensils, Keurig single serve coffee maker as well as standard coffee pot.
Nearby towns include Clayton, Helen, Blue Ridge, Hayesville, and Franklin and are all about a 30 minute drive. Take a trip over the great smoky mountains and visit Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, Asheville or Chattanooga, all about a 2 1/2 hour drive away. There is a new casino in Murphy, NC also nearby.
Walk or bike to town (or take the 3 min drive), where you will find a wonderful grocery store, fine restaurants and fast food along with upscale shops and old fashioned general stores. There is 'Music on the Square' every Saturday summer night, and a farmers market to buy local produce and crafts.
Just a 5 minute drive away are the Georgia Mountain fairgrounds and Music Hall where there are festivals and concerts all year long.
You can catch a movie, play golf or visit the spa at Brasstown Valley Resort.
In Blue Ridge you can ride the train though the mountains, or head to the Bavarian town of Helen where you can tube down the river or enjoy the longest Oktoberfest in the US. You can also take a zip-line in Sautee, or Blairsville. Visit Brasstown Bald, Georgia's highest mountain where the views will take your breath away. Hike the Appalachian trail - there is an entrance just a few miles away.
