Guest access
Encounters with wildlife are possible at any time. Foxes, squirrels, rabbits, deer and an occasional black bear are seen here. A North American Lynx was sighted on the orchard road just below the Farmhouse in January of 2024. Coyotes are regular but discreet visitors. Guests may encounter “Owlbert,” a large Great Horned Owl who has claimed Honey Bear Orchard as his territory since about 2017. Most guest will never see him, but they are very likely to hear him in the predawn hours. Several kinds of hawks, and an occasional Bald Eagle have been sighted, but the songbirds along Clear Creek will dazzle the eye. The sharpest observer will see the usual suspects like Cardinals and Robins but the keen observer may also spot the Indigo Bunting or the Scarlet Tanager.
