Great pool
I am aware this hotel is under newer ownership and that improvements are underway. Staff was very helpful and pool was awesome. The indoor pool was our primary reason for choosing this hotel.

We booked this at the last minute as other hotels in the area were booked or above our price range. There was a horrible wait at the reception desk--it appeared there was only one counter agent and she had to leave for a while to help another customer. We were able to book a room via hotels.com faster than the agent could help us but then still had to wait on her return and helping of others. The lobby looked at one time to be very nice, but the hot tub had been removed, the putt area was shabby and ripped carpets in the hallways.

Bad hotel
Room were not clean. they had a bad smell. Staff did not do a good job. we had to change rooms after one night because they put us in the wrong room. The breakfast was a joke. This hotel needed to be totally restored.

Where's the "Quality"?
As a disabled person, I was appalled when told there was no elevator to get to my 2nd floor room. Isn't there a law against this? Then I had only 1 bar of soap to use in the shower AND on my face at the sink - yuck! The shampoo packets were impossible to open unless you happened to have scissors with you; I didn't. The bed was the only plus. Comfortable and cozy, but the room itself was in serious need of an upgrade. Torn couch and worn carpet with stains. I will not stay at a "Quality" Inn again. I had much nicer rooms at other hotels on my 4-day trip and they were all $30 less a night!

a place to stay after driving 12hrs!
overall the place was just ok, staff wasnt very friendly, when checking out the clerk just looked at me when I got to the counter. I had to tell him I was checking out, nothing from him except a thank you when handing me my receipt. He made me feel like I had interrupted something! The carpeting in our room has many stains which made us feel like we shouldnt walk around barefoot! The lock on the door didnt seem very secure! Cant believe someone didnt notice that & have it repaired.

Skip this place.
This place may have been nice in it's day, but that day has long since past. One of the buildings is closed with no trespassing signs. The first room they assigned us, we couldn't get the door unlocked. After trying to get the keys redone and still not able to get in, we changed rooms. We got one in back unfortuneatly near the ashtray where people were hanging out at midnight and we could hear every word anyone said, even above the noisy A/C. Floors were dirty, beds old and worn out. We left after one night even though we had paid for three. We got refunded, but not from the hotel. We would have left anyhow.

Very run down! Newer hotels on the same street!!
I thought all of the reviews were of people expecting too much for a low priced hotel. Believe the reviews!!! The only thing decent in this hotel is the pool. There were bugs in the muffin container in the breakfast area, bugs in the lobby, our shower barely worked, room smelled if mildew, carpet very dirty and stained. I wore flip flops the entire two days. My boyfriend did not want to return at night when we got back from my cousins wedding. He said the place depressed him. My advice, spend 10 dollars more and stay down the street at a newer hotel. This place is a dump!!!

Needs to be Check by the Health Department
One of the worst Quality Inns I have ever seen or stayed at. The grounds and building it self appear to be on their last legs. Not kept very well at all. As I approached I wasn't even sure the hotel was still in use. After checking in I was told I was in an upstairs outside entry room. Upon entry to the room I was totally disappointed to find that all the furniture appeared to be "Goodwill" throw away's. The table in the room was barely standing and the two chairs in the room needed reupholstering and a new finish. The carpets appeared dirty and stained. In the tub/toilet area there was rust on the wall from the towel bar and an old light fixture. The grout in the shower had mold and if you lifted the bath mat there was, what appeared to be, fungus growing. The shower head was dirty. Other than that the bed was comfortable!!!! One of the worst hotel rooms, especially for a Quality Inn, that I have ever stayed at. I didn't file a complaint or move out because I was there for only one night and according to Hotels.com, that was the only room available, for the price, in the area.

Would NOT recommend
I was very upset. My first room was dirty (had not been swept, bathtub had caked on dirt that I scraped off with my fingernails. My 2nd room, the refrigerator did not work and only one tv worked in the living area but the tv by the bed did not work. Finally, I got a 3rd room where everything worked properly. The hotel was old and badly needed remodeling. Not worth what I paid for it. The breakfast was minimal. I would NOT stay there again and I would NOT recommend it for anyone else.

Convenient to interstate
The lobby & indoor pool area were beautiful. I just wish they had spent some of that money on updating the rooms. There was peeling paint, & just so dated-looking. Also, they left us 4 towels, but only 1 washcloth. And the coffee pack holder was missing on the coffeemaker. Aren't the cleaning crew supposed to check on these things?

For the price of the room I was beyond shocked that there wasn't any microwaves or refrigerator in the room. I was very impressed how clean the room was and how it smelled. The hotel clerk that checked me in she was beyond nice and friendly.

A great disappointment
Went for 2 nights to visit Chimney Rock 7/2014. Nothing like the pictures on the internet. Grounds unkept, dirty and staff smokes in the entrance so that's the first thing you smell going in. Waiting for 15min in line to check in, one person in the front desk and several maintenance man standing around. We were upgraded for our wait, and when we entered to our room it was a joke. Old broken furniture, dead bugs in our bed, mold in the bathroom that smelled like smoke, we saw 2 cockroaches, 1/2 the arcade games did not work and 1 of the pool tables. THERE WAS NO HOUSEKEEPING done in our room, seen maintenance man doing some housekeeping in other rooms late in the afternoon (5pm). Great pool in the center of the property but only one gate opened and thats where I seen one of the cockroaches. YIKES! Not worth $100 a night. Never again.

For over 9 years now I take a yearly weekend getaway on my own for rest and inner reflection. I have been to several different hotels but this was the first and unfortunately the last visit at this location. The room had a stale air smell (considering it lacked windows to the outside) but correctable with an air diffuser that I bought with me. There were several power cords throughout the room to plug things into from the wall receptacle. The televisions were dated (no flat screens). As for the breakfast setup, there were issues with the waffle makers. One machine had a burnt waffle stuck in the machine while the other kept producing stuck waffles that broke apart when attempting to plate the food (even after cleaning and prepping the machine which I did multiple times with the tools presented at the table). The jacuzzi was not in operation during my two night stay while the exercise room offered dated and limited equipment to utilize. Other than the initial water fountain that one saw when you first enter the building (which was beautiful) there were several that needed aesthetic attention or was not working. The staff was pleasant and receptive but overall, I will not be back to this location.

A disappointment
We asked for a non-smoking room and we got it. Unfortunately, the people in the next room were smoking heavily and the smell came under the adjoining door. The ceiling in the bathroom was peeling badly. The wallpaper was coming down. The carpet was filthy and worn. The bed, however, was clean and surprisingly comfortable.

Everything is outdated. It looks like there have been no renovations in the past twenty years. Key card access was old, tube tv, bathroom also old. Very odd set up of motel plus indoor pool and putting green. Several large groups that were loud well into the night.

Not what you think
The stay was not what we excepted, the room was outdated and had a bad smell, also the heater did not work properly and I had to remove the filter to increase the air flow to heat the room. Front door never seal completely and cold air continue to enter the room, the sink hot water side had to run for a while before the water reach the proper temperature. the main issue that we had during booking the room for two night, we were never told that the hotel had rooms inside the building and when we try to change rooms from outside to inside we were told that certain rooms were under construction, hard to believe that, when those rooms were being sold to other guest. very dissatisfy

Great pool!
The entry way and common areas were very nice--quite large and comfortable. My teenaged boys loved the huge, warm pool. The complimentary breakfast was adequate. The hotel room itself needed a bit of TLC, but it meant our needs.

Why is it so hard to get the room that was booked?
The reservation was made specifying a non-smoking room and a room that was not a pet-friendly room. It was explained that there was a 4 year old boy staying in the room who had allergies. Upon arrival, a room with an obvious smell of smoke was presented. Upon complaint another room was given that did not smell of smoke. The hotel staff said they were upgrading the room when in fact they were only giving the room that was originally booked. This was disappointing. The other thing is the hotel is in need of updating.
