Tucked in a "holler" amid hardwoods, rushing creeks, rhododendron, and a small stocked pond, is a newly converted cabin that began as a barn in the 1940's. "The Acorn" is part of our family's active homestead complete with chickens (fresh eggs! when the girls are laying - winter, not so much), potbelly pigs, fresh herbs, fishing & more.
The Acorn has been impeccably cleaned, insulated, painted, and outfitted with many modern amenities to make your stay quaint and comfortable. The den/dining/kitchen combo was the former barn, and the "sleeping lodge" - a super large room with a privacy partition - was built in the early 80's to serve as a private community library and to teach reading literacy.
Come stay Yonderways where the pace is relaxed, the mountain air fills your lungs and soul, and where the frogs and fireflies perform nightly from your private deck by a mountain stream.
Located 1/2 mile to Holmes Educational State Forest, and less than 5 miles to DuPont Forest. Centrally located between Hendersonville and Brevard, and only 15 minutes to Flat Rock, Pisgah Forest, and many other popular mountain attractions.
