The tiny Hellnar church with its cemetery next door to the hotel, the walk to Anarstarpi and the cliffs with all their roosting birds should not be missed. The lava cave is also very good.

It ended up being the perfect location to stop after 1 day travel from Reykjavik and partway around the Snaefellsnes peninsula. "The cottage was compact and well equipped for 2 people. I liked the quiet location and easy parking. I had two caveats: large downloads and streaming was prohibited on the wifi and guests were requested to change the bedding, make up the bed for the next guests arriving."
