"This is a beautiful property situated across the bay from Grundarfjordur and the stunning Kirkjufell mountain. The bedroom was very spacious, as was the bathroom. The kitchen is perfect for multiple travelers to utilize at once and had plenty of basic spices, cooking and dining ware. I would happily stay here again! This was one of my favorite places I stayed in Iceland."

"My spouse and I booked the Fosshotel Hellnar as a stop on our Iceland road trip. It ended up being the perfect location to stop after 1 day travel from Reykjavik and partway around the Snaefellsnes peninsula. We were cold and tired by that point and the Fosshotel was so comfortable on our arrival. The fireplace in the lobby was very inviting. The room was spacious, comfortable and the heated bathroom floor tiles were such an appreciated luxury to us that day. We enjoyed dinner at the hotel restaurant as well as their breakfast buffet. All of the food was delicious. The prices were shocking to us in Canadian dollars but we got used to that in Iceland after a while. For the large portions and great quality, the prices were comparatively fair. The hotel didn't have some of the amenities that we had in other stays during our trip but the location was beautiful. We had a gorgeous view of the glacier from our room before rain and fog settled in low for the evening. "

"My wife and I spent four nights in this duplex cottage in the town of Hellnar on the Snaefellsbaer Peninsula. We were greeted by an amazing display of the Northern Lights on our first night. The place was comfortable and quiet and had all the amenities needed to feel like home for a few days. The views are stunning--the sea in one direction and mountains and the volcano that dominates the west end of the peninsula in the other. There are several little places to eat within a 5-10 minutes drive and even more if you're willing to drive 30-45 minutes. Two things to note. First, all the bedrooms are upstairs and the staircase (really more like a ladder) is very steep--going up isn't too bad, but coming down can be a little scary. Second, the bathroom is tight. We adapted and it was fine. Overall, the home was a great place to explore the Snaefellsbaer Peninsula."
