This was a wonderful stay and the cabin was prettier in person. It was right off of the river and the outdoor sounds and views were exactly what we needed for a restful vacation. Check-in was easy and everything was exactly as described. Great place to stay while you’re at Helen!

Pretty Perfect!
We loved our stay here. We enjoyed the open floor plan and the amazing views. The boys loved that the river was right there and was easy to access to fish! The grill and the fire pit were great as well. The location was great too! You were a little way out of town but was easy to get back and forth to town. The only thing we thought needed improved was the amount of kitchen utensils (only a couple serving spoons, no spatula, and no can opener). We cooked a lot during our stay. They need to add curtains to the upstairs window for use at night and we wish there would have been a washer and dryer. But the cabin was beautiful and very comfortable! Very peaceful and relaxing a well!

A little bit of paradise!
We really enjoyed the stay here. The cabin is decorated nice. We love reading about "Mouse" and his service. We are hikers and this was close to some really nice hikes. Close to downtown Helen. The best part was relaxing on the deck while enjoying the river. We wished we had booked it for longer.

Very nice place and nice location. Water pressure in the showers wasn't the greatest and had a hard time getting the slider to lock and it may be time to replace the beds you roll to the middle. Other then those small things it was a great place to stay it was our second time in this rental and will most likely return.

Hidden gem
Location, location, locatiooooonnnnn! This property is right on the river tucked away from the crowds! It’s about a 3 minute drive to one of our favorite local attractions (CRT) as well as a county road that is a great “bypass” when you want to avoid downtown traffic (heavy season) to make your way South to Cleavland. The property was clean. The rental company is SUPER accommodating and prompt with replies. Looking forward to our next stay at Elk Manor!

Great Cabin on the River
This is a really fun cabin. Very cozy and being on the river was fantastic. My kids had a blast in the water. I enjoyed hearing the river anytime. There were some dead bugs in the window sills, so a little more cleaning would be nice. I would definitely come back though.

There are 3 broken windows in this house. Of the 2 nights I stayed, one night I slept better on the couch than I did in the master bed. The master bed mattress is shot, gone. Both sides you sink half way into the mattress. It needs to be replaced. There is not much enough lighting in the kitchen / dinning area. My wife had a hard time plugging her phone charger up due to the outlet cover was too big and bulky. The location was great. The place is beautiful. The house is nice. The owner needs to spend some money to change a few things.

Great trip
Overall, the Elk Lodge was great! Very nice rooms, wonderful outdoor spaces. The only thing I would say is that the stairs to get to the master bedroom were very steep so if you have a hard time with mobility, be careful. The property staff was excellent!

The cabin was beautiful, rustic, and clean. The location was perfect, close to town but remote enough for privacy. The only problem was low water flow in certain faucets due to the extremely cold weather, but the property manager was responsive and resolved the issue.

1.Not enough information on how to work the lock. Took three hours and NUMEROUS phone calls for anyone to contact me. 2. Hair in bathroom shower drain 3. Not enough washcloths for 4 days. I was told they would bring more but they did not. 4. Gas logs would not work. Was told at first that there would be a charge for them to come out to light them. They had to come twice to work on it. I was also told by office staff that I would need to call the gas company. I finally turned gas off at the logs. They would not stay lit. 5. windows in back side of house are very dirty. I understand that they are in a damp shaded area but it has been a long while since thy have been touched. The good things: 1. The maintenance guys were very nice and accommodating (Nick and Andy) 2. The set up and location of house was perfect. 3. My friends and I enjoyed our time there despite the frustrations from the main office. I hope this review helps improve the management of their property because it really is a nice home.

The process was easy. The cabin was as advertised and quite comfortable. The TV in living room was hard to navigate, but I did not rent it to watch TV. The balcony off the master was cool. Wish I had chairs for it. A broom and pot holders would be helpful. Fix dining room window nad clean well.

Beautiful Home
This home was a great location, close to Helen, well maintained, and very relaxing. Even though there were a lot of animals on the walls, I was surprised that there was no dust on them. This was a comment that was made when we were talking about how clean the home was when we arrived. Having the river there and the sound of the river put me in a great state of relaxation especially when going to sleep. I would definitely and probably will come back to this cabin.

Our family enjoyed our trip to Helen. The house is very conveniently located about 3 miles from downtown Helen, but is in a more secluded area. The back deck, river right outside, and yard were nice. The front of the house is close to the road and there is a rental house next door, but neither of these things bothered us. The boys enjoyed fishing and playing in the water. If you go in the warmer months make sure to pack bug spray! We did have a problem with ants in the kitchen so we had to keep most everything in the refrigerator to keep the ants out. There is no broom at the house, only a handheld dust brush and pan to sweep the floor. The large window in the dining room is still busted as was noted in a previous review. The bed upstairs is less than comfortable. The light fixture over the kitchen island needed a good cleaning and the area where the animals are needs a good dusting. The water pressure/shower head downstairs weren’t great. We did have plenty of towels and wash cloths. There is no washer/dryer in this house. The microwave is slow to cook. The left side of the grill didn’t work right. The house seemed too cluttered with all the different types of decor. Location is great, but house was just ok.
