Our apartment Bel Étage is located on the 1st floor of the house and was in former times intended as an apartment for the “lordship”. The room height is more than 3 meters and the old baroque stucco ceilings are preserved in their original state and elaborately renovated.
In the Bel Étage you will find two bedrooms, both with a cozy sitting area and a workplace. A fully equipped kitchen and a bright dining area invite you to cook and linger.
The tasteful modern bathroom features a heated floor and extensive amenities: WC, bidet, large shower, large sink with mirror.
In the apartment there is an intelligent HEPA UV air purifier, aircleaner according to the studies of RKI and WHO this helps against corona viruses, filters dust, odors, allergens, microorganisms and chemical substances.
The apartment was completely renovated and completed in June 2015. The house is connected to district heating, so it combines historic walls with the conveniences of the 21st century. The apartment is heated by underfloor heating.
The rental price includes the use of high-speed internet, towels, bed linens and tea towels. A small selection of coffee pods (Tassimo) is provided to get you started.
The history of the house, which today offers 4 holiday apartments, dates back to the 15th century. At that time, it served as the house of the forester of the castle. The house is located in the center of the old town in the immediate vicinity of the Heiliggeistkirche, the town hall and market square and on the outer edge of the pedestrian area. It thus offers all the advantages of the city center with regard to tourist destinations, restaurants and other activities. Since the apartment is located in a quiet side street, it is wonderfully quiet.
The house and apartments were completely renovated from 2012 to 2014 and connected to district heating in March 2014. Today the house combines historic walls with 21st century amenitites. The apartments are furnished in a tasteful and modern style and fully equipped.

In the historic old town of Heidelberg, in a side street to the pedestrian zone (main street). To the mountain railroad, which goes to the Heidelberg Castle, as well as to the next bus stop it is 1-2 minutes by foot. Here you will also find the nearest parking garage. (Information about the parking garage) The nearest highway exit is only 10 minutes away by car and the train station is only 5 minutes away by bus or cab. You can also walk to the castle in about 15 minutes (very nice path). In the immediate vicinity you will find the Heidelberg City Hall, the Heiliggeistkirche, many restaurants, cinemas and stores. A grocery store and bakery are within 2 minutes walking distance. In a few minutes you are at the old university, several museums, the Neckar river with excursion possibilites to the Neckar valley and many other attractions.
Visits to Speyer or Schwetzingen are possible within 20-30 minutes driving time and are worthwhile.
