We loved the property, it was easy to find and had onsite parking.Lovely log burner and the views were spectacular in spite of the mist.It has everything you need for a relaxing stay.
As a family of 5 we found the property to be very spacious. Large lounge area upstairs as well as outdoor eating area on the upstairs balcony with stunning countryside views. A very comfortable, relaxing stay with great access to local walks, national trust properties and the coast. We would recommend.
My friends and I found the cottage and the location lovely with a beautiful landscape to view. We all enjoyed our stay even during the rain which did not dampen our spirits as there was a lot of exploring to do in the area.
Thank you for your lovely welcome, you were a pleasure to communicate with.
Booked for 4 nights a base for my wedding. Property was perfect and adapted well between the chaos of getting ready for a wedding, a peaceful break for 2 and finally as a great family house. Had everything we needed and can't wait to rebook
A wonderful country escape with expansive views and plenty of space for everyone. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would come back in a heartbeat. Don't miss out on the available farm fresh sausages and eggs. Thanks Neil and Helen!
Property difficult to find due to poor description on website. Giving the address as simply 'Battle Road' meant a bit of a search as Battle Road is very long!
The property is tired and in desperate need of some maintenance. The wooden weather boards on the outside are falling to pieces and the garden area overgrown, making the inside dark and dingy. The rooms were not very clean and bedroom 3 in particular very dusty (as well as being way too small for the 2 people claimed it could accommodate). The biggest concern was the rotten timber deck above the garage. A piece of artifical grass had been put over it hiding a large hole - which I sprained my ankle on when I found it. The house is also right on a busy B road. As it was hot we had to have the windows open, which meant that it was very noisy. When the traffic starts (about 5am) you are awoken by an earthquake as each vehicle passes. We did not get the second fan that we were promised either. To top our stay off we were subsequently charged £29 by the owner to fix a shower fixing which was already broken when we arrived. We were going to point this out to the owners but as they didnt pop in and say hello we couldnt. BTW - The shower fixing is £3.99 in screwfix. All in all a very dissapointing stay.
Perfect country escape with everything in easy reach
We had the most wonderful stay at the Old Chapel. Our hosts were so accommodating and offered helpful & welcoming communication throughout, along with lots of extra touches to make our stay perfect. The house was very spacious, well equipped and ideal for our needs with two small children.
The entire house had a warm and cosy feel for such a spacious home. We loved the stairs up to the main living area with its fireplace and balcony opening out to the most spectacular views. We stayed during the summer but would be keen to book again during the autumn or winter, as it would be just as stunning and a whole different experience.
The village was the perfect location to drive into Hastings and Battle. If our children were older, we would have explored some of the local walks. Our hosts provided a lot of helpful info for walkers.
If you are still reading this, I won’t waste any more of your time - go ahead and book!
The chapel is located next to a farm so from the moment you arrive you begin to relax.
Pubs, supermarkets and takeaway food are only minutes away by car.
Everything you see in the description is exactly what you get.
The bed are all comfortable and you can choose how you want beds in bedrooms 2 & 3, which was great for our family.
We enjoyed every moment here and will hopefully stay again.

We'd like to thank Helen and Neil for a great break. Myself, my partner and our 4 boys had a great time. The Chapel is extremely comfortable and well equipped. The only downside we experienced was the heat and although the children's bedrooms downstairs were bearable the master suite was an oven, luckily we had taken some fans as we knew the forecast.
The Chapel offered lots of space so all the boys were able to have down time away from each other but loads of space for us all to eat together and play board games in the evening, the little balcony upstairs a lovely place to sit of an evening. Overall it's a perfect place to be. The pub up the road is lovely, I would highly recommend the steak and guiness pie! 😋
Spent a long weekend in the property and it was perfect bliss . High end accommodation in a stunning location . Thank you

A lovely house with a lovely setting
We had a great time at the chapel. The lounge is upstairs and gets great views, mostly from the outside sitting area on the roof which makes the room very special.
