Girls weekend
We had a wonderful stay (mother/daughter/granddaughter weekend)! The cabin was perfect for us. Our host thought of everything we would need from kindling for the fire to cotton swab & Q-tips in the bathroom. They even surprised us with the makings for s’mores! You can tell a lot of thought went into making sure we had everything for our stay.
If you love wildlife this a great place to take it all in. We saw loons, ducks, deer and were serenaded every night by the frogs. We were only there for 3 nights but could have stayed a week with so much to do in the Hayward area. We spent a day in town checking out the shops and we were surprised there were so many interesting places. We ate at Tamarack Farms(which is within walking distance). The pizza was fantastic and they even had gluten free crust. We also went to Powell’s (just short driveway) for a burger and some music. It has a great outdoor set up with views of Round lake.
We didn’t get a chance to use kayaks or canoe but we did wade in the water which was very clean and clear. We could even see the fish coming up to the surface. If you like to fish you could just sit in the dock and throw in a line.
I would recommend printing the check in instructions before arriving since there is not much of a signal in the area.
Great memories and a relaxing weekend, we are already planning our trip back!
