Awake to beautiful views out across the Yorkshire Dales when you stay at this welcoming cottage in the pretty village of Burtersett. Sleeping four guests, the cosy, two-bedroom bolthole, which is 1.5 miles from Hawes, is perfect for a small family or two couples away together. With a roaring wood burner set into a gorgeous natural stone hearth and a courtyard garden, where you can enjoy the fresh country air, this inviting hideaway is a year-round treat.
Take two steps up to enter and make yourselves immediately at home in the magical lounge/diner. Sink back into the sofa and toast your toes by the wood burner after your bracing autumn and winter walks. Take in a couple of episodes of your favourite box set before wandering through to the kitchen to prepare a bubbling dish with the Wensleydale cheese you have bought at the creamery in Hawes. Call everyone through to gather round the table to dine together back through in the main room. There is also a small breakfast bar in the kitchen for more casual meals. The family bathroom, where you can soak in a long, hot bubble bath, is also downstairs. At the end of each relaxing day, climb the stairs up to the first floor, there a 90 degree turn on the staircase and handrail on side to aide, where a double bedroom and a room with a splendid, four-poster, king-size are situated. Have breakfast out in the courtyard garden on fine mornings before heading off on your next adventure.
Stride straight out from the cottage on long walks across the magnificent Dales. Walk into Hawes to stock up on local produce, dine out in a friendly pub and visit the Dales Countryside Museum. The impressive Aysgarth Falls, which were used as a backdrop during the filming of Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, are 8 miles from the cottage.
