"Can not recommend this apartment enough. Absolutely lovely place to stay. The terrace is a nice place to relax and the owners have put a lot of thought in making the place comfortable and enjoyable. From board games, books, packets of tissues to take with you, blankets for the terrace and even umbrellas for the rainy days. "

"Fantastic staff from first contact at reception to the gentleman serving at the bar. The set menu in the evening was fantastic, as was the breakfast buffet. The building is very attractive. Some of the interior would benefit from an update. We will definitely return."

"This was our 3rd visit to Torfhaus Resort Hotel. It is our favorite. The location in the Harz Mountains is serene, but also full of possibilities for hiking, biking, and quick travel to picturesque towns. The houses/cabins at the resort are maintained in excellent condition. There is plenty of room for a family. We enjoy sitting on the deck with a meal and looking at the beautiful views of the forest. "Nice people and amazing food It is impossible to sleep as you can hear every foot step from the rooms next door. Every word and toilet trip. 1am before I could sleep all the ear plugs in the world wouldn't help. If you are going to stay up late and enjoy the food then great place to stay If like me, you want to sleep so you are rested to go hiking, book another hotel. "

Der Eingangsbereich ist sehr modern und einladend gestaltet, der Zimmerbereich ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen und teils aus der Zeit gefallen (Flachspüler-Toiletten, Fernseher muss über zwei Remotes bedient werden). "The hotel is outdated and needs investment to improve the stay. The proprietor was welcoming (she unfortunately had very little English and unfortunately our German was very poor too - which made communication more challenging). She got up early to see us off and was helpful when the bed broke as soon as I lay down on it. Spoilt by a poor "accidentally left" policy

"At first I was a bit surprised at staying in the dark yellow painted, deep red curtained and darkwood themed Africa room (135) but it grew on me. The patio area was pretty dark though. Breakfast was great but no restaurant for an evening meal nor a bar which was a shame. On leaving I realised I left my almost nearly new (expensive) CK shower gel behind and despite getting in touch that afternoon both by email and phone I received this reply at 20.00 - unfortunately we throw hygiene products from a departure in the trash. Sorry but those are the rules. Best regards Kati Azeroth Reservation Not acceptable in any way, shape or form after only a few hours since checking out. I wanted to upload some photos but the app isn't working properly. I also couldn't rate the parking which was very gravelly, apparently they top it up weekly, so motorcycle riders beware of the steep hill blind turn down into the hotel car park! (ask to park by the main door accessed across the pedestrian area)."
