Great place to stay and explore
Stayed as a last minute trip for vacation and college visits. Was a short stay but we enjoyed it! Property is 10 minute drive to Lake Michigan and 30 minutes or less to Harbor Springs and Mackinaw City - both beautiful with plenty to see. Cabin was super clean, quiet, and peaceful!

Perfect for us
Clean, comfortable, cozy. The cabin feels like it’s at the end of the world, but it is easy to get to Petoskey and Mackinac Island. We had our two dogs with us and they loved investigating the yard, which is full of naturalized plantings and mown paths. The space was great for my husband and me, but I think it would be tight with any additional adults. This was a great getaway!

Wonderful Seclusion
Our second time staying and having the best time. The cabin is clean and cute and perfect for our family of 4. Kids love sleeping upstairs and playing outside, going for walks and just being quiet. Sturgeon Bay beach is stunning and a short pretty drive away (maybe 15 minutes). We want to come back again!

Return visitors
This was our 3rd time time staying at the chalet and it was wonderful as usual. We really focused on biking this trip and had a great time hitting mountain bike and gravel trails all within a short drive (less than 20 min) or ride out from the driveway. Well appointed kitchen and cozy, thoughtfully curated interior. 4 restaurants are within a very short drive or bike ride (beware the road has a giant hill to pedal up to return if you choose to bike!): Legs Inn, Petoskey Brewing, Moosejaw Junction, and Crows Nest.

Cute and clean chalet in the woods
This chalet is the cutest thing! It is nestled in the woods. It feels like you’re in the middle of nowhere, but the gas station/market and the beach are only 5 minutes away by car. There are also a few restaurants in the vicinity but we didn’t try any. We cooked our meals onsite. It was very clean and comfortable and the owner was easily accessible. Would definitely stay again! (Please note if traveling in the winter, you will definitely need 4WD or AWD.)

Amazing!
This cabin was perfect. We loved everything about the space and the property. Total peace and comfort. I can not recommend this place enough. Sylvia was an amazing host and went out of her way to return a much loved bear that got left behind. This is by far one of our very favorite vacation rentals ever. Cozy, clean, a nice mix of modern and rustic, and the perfect spot for exploring Northern Michigan!

Hidden Gem!
Our stay in Cross Village was absolutely delightful. The Cabin is so cute and cozy and had everything we needed. We had a fire each night in the spacious yard and our dog loved it as well! The best part was it was quiet and hidden away from the world- exactly what is needed if you need some time away. Was super close to Leg’s Inn and the Tunnel of Trees, and close to Sturgeon Beach in Wilderness State Park. Sylvia even allowed us to stay a little longer which was so kind, and she was easy and delightful to communicate with. Will probably come back next year!

Best Quiet Vacation Spot
The A-frame is a little hidden gem - it feels like you're in a storybook setting when you pull up the dirt road and see it nestled back in the woods. I think this is our 4th stay and we still love everything about it. It's clean, comfortable and just the best place to relax. It was a bit cooler this trip so we had a few more fires inside but we were still able to go swimming at Sturgeon Bay Beach, fly kites and climb a sand dune. Not much else to do in the area except get ice cream at the gas station and have a night playing pinball at Legs Inn - which is plenty for us. We hope to come back many more times in the future.

A week off the beaten path
We really enjoyed the property and the cozy A-frame. On the rainy evenings we enjoyed the provided games and dvds and even Netflix. We wanted quiet and it was quiet. The woods are beautiful. We enjoyed lots of awesome nature sounds and we enjoyed seeing the deer walking by at the crack of dawn. It’s truly a magical place where nobody is going to bother you and a special shout out to the host who was incredibly nice and helpful. Thanks!!!

Woodsy wonderland
This cabin was the perfect retreat - set in the woods with a nice clearing to let the sun into the back yard area. The kitchen was clean and well equipped with all the pots and pans and utensils anyone would need to enjoy cooking a great meal. I missed having a microwave (but not too much). The fire pit was great and there was plenty of wood supplied. To put it in a nutshell, this place was heaven! So close to Wilderness State Park, and the bridge. We had the most wonderful time! We would definitely come back in the future.

Perfect Place
This place is truly wonderful! Had a great 4 night stay with one of my best friends. We watched birds, had nightly fires, and relaxed within the private, woodsy setting. The inside is beyond lovely with lots of personal touches. It's exactly as described and then some. Just what I was hoping for. The Cross Village beach on Lake Michigan is within 2 miles of the place, and is beautiful and not busy. I could go on forever about this place, and would totally stay here again. Thank you, Sylvia!

Wonderful place for who loves to be in wilderness
Nice place with totally wilderness setup.. Things to do before choosing this cottage: 1) prepare for black flies in the outdoor. 2) make sure you are 100% clear on the route to reach the cottage. 3) Better arrive the cottage before getting dark as it avoid probable confusions on route identifying the cabin. 4) This is a small cottage which only sufficient for 4 persons max for a comfortable stay!! Other than this, this is an excellent cottage with amazing outdoor features!! I loved the outdoor more than indoor!! Good luck!!!

Perfect quiet getaway
First, everything was extremely clean and varment free (my husband has a little phobia). The pictures don't due it justice!! Pretty decorating and well stocked. We never lacked for anything. New bath is stunning. And we went during a heat way, no problem. There are two ceilings fans and two table fans. We were always comfortable. Even sun shades on west window. Only tiny issue is no telephone although it was listed as an amenity. Probably used to have one before internet, which is waaaaay more important. But, if it is important, you should note this. My husband has health and mobility issues with age and was anxious about the lack of telephone in case of emergency. Loved this, as did our dog! You will not be disappointed

Wonderful time!
Our family of 5 LOVED this quaint, private rental!! The owner has supplied this fabulously decorated chalet with all of the essentials - plush towels, soft, comfortable linens, quality soap, toilet paper, and firewood! We enjoyed campfires, movie nights, family dinners, relaxing on the spacious back deck, doing yoga in the beautiful side yard, and walking on the private grounds. This was a perfect, restful getaway from the busy city. The location is a 20 minute drive from Harbor Springs (S) and Mackinaw City (N). We hiked in Wilderness State Park (recommended), visited Harbor Springs, spent a day on Mackinac Island, and tootled around close to the chalet. Nearby, we enjoyed the famous Legs Inn restaurant, shopped at the Good Hart General Store (we recommend the delicious pot pies, fruit pies and devilled eggs), and we enjoyed the quaint ambience and wonderful espresso at Trillium Wood Antiques shop, along beautiful Route M-119 aka Tunnel of Trees. Thanks to the owner, Sylvia, for your thoughtfulness and especially for allowing your wonderful place to be enjoyed by renters. Incidentally, we found this place because the owner allows dogs, and while we did not bring our dog on our trip, we appreciated that dogs are welcome here. We would definitely stay here again! Thank you so much!!
