Cozy beachfront cottage in Harbor Springs/Good Hart/M-119/Tunnel of Trees.

Quiet and serene, right off scenic M119 /Tunnel of Trees is our little cottage on (the big) Lake Michigan. Plenty of sleeping space and just steps away down the path to expansive and private Chippewa Cove Woods Association Lake Michigan frontage.

The cottage is well appointed for meals in, though just minutes to neighboring communities for meals out. Accommodations are thoughtfully procured to ensure a comfortable stay. Thoroughly refreshed kitchen goods, beds and bath linens. New carpet in bedrooms (fall 2022), remodeled half-bath/laundry (spring 2023), renovated kitchen and new hardwood flooring (spring 2024), and more updates to come.

Main floor has three bedrooms (two queens and a king), two full and one half bath. Sleeping loft has four twin beds and a tv/sitting area.

Walk the beach or swim in the crystal clear water. Enjoy sunsets from the beach, deck, kayaks, or paddle boards. Take a walk through the association trails, play Cornhole on the beach, or bike along M119 to the Good Hart General Store to grab some goodies and souvenirs.

Minutes from Petoskey and Harbor Springs and all those areas have to offer! Summertime at the lake, fall color/wine tours, skiing at Nub's Nob or The Highlands, and much more!

Lovely cabin, quiet beach
Once again it was a lovely week at this picture perfect cabin. The kitchen is filled with everything needed to cook, beds comfortable, the deck inviting after a long day on the beach. You will not be disappointed with the location; beautiful and quiet with a walkable sandy beach. We highly recommend this lake house!

Beautiful lakefront cottage
Great house, great location. Perfect for our family ranging from 12 to 75. Peaceful and beautiful beach that was mostly deserted. This is the 4th year we've stayed at this house and the owners have made a lot of nice improvements to enhance your stay. Hoping to rent again next summer!

Thoughtfully decorated & cozy hideaway in the woods on Lake Michigan
This home was one of the most well appointed of any place I’ve stayed. There was everything you could want for baking or cooking dinner, spices, flour, sugar, and even coffee for the morning. The host supplied all the toilet paper and paper towels we needed (with a family of 7 we often need to restock). There were games, and puzzles and the most surprising and fun of all was the selection of best seller books that lined the walls and the bedrooms. For outdoors the kayaks and paddle boards and solo stove and gas grill were all so appreciated and useful. The location of this beautiful space on the lake was just a mile from Good Hart General Store where coffee and snacks can be picked up quickly and easily. Harbor Springs was only 20 minutes down the road and Petoskey just 4O minutes away. There was so much to do at the lake house that we didn’t spend as much time as we thought we would exploring the surrounding towns. The sandy beach was only steps from the house (there are a few stairs from the deck to the beach but it’s only 15ish and not as many as the photos might suggest). The house was perfect and even more beautiful than photos can capture. We hope to return as soon as possible.

Wonderful stay!
What a unique property! We've rented other properties in the area and this, by far has been the best. Secluded spot with a beautiful, sandy beach. We stayed over the fourth and had a great time. The house has everything you need for a great stay. We used the paddleboards and kayaks and cooked a lot in the kitchen. Log cabin feel but with all the modern amenities you'd need. We absolutely would stay again.

The Best of All Worlds up North
This place is tucked away in a woodsy area, right off the Tunnel of Trees stretch on M119. Every time you go into town you get to enjoy the relaxing drive while seeing the beauty of the fall leaves. Not only do you have these two aspects tied into this place, but you have a beautiful footpath from the back deck that leads you to a gorgeous spot on the beach! Like I said, the best of all the worlds that you can get up north. They have kayaks and paddle boards and even life jackets for you to borrow to get out on the water. Inside is very accommodating as well with as close to a fully stocked kitchen as one can get without having your grocery trip done for you in advance! My family loved staying here.

Perfect Beach House
Our family throughly enjoyed this lovely property located on a beautiful sandy beach with an added bonus of being able to see the beach from the deck. Every day was filled with swimming, conversation, building sand castles and if the lake was calm, kayaking. The house itself is thoughtfully decorated, stocked with all the essentials and the host easy to contact if the need arises. An absolutely beautiful perfect beach house!

Beautiful, peaceful, and perfect
We stayed here a few years ago when there was a different owner and the improvements Julie has made are excellent additions to a perfect vacation cottage. The house was the best appointed rental we've ever had. The new linens and bedding were resort quality. They provided alot of things that others have not in the past - all the beach towels/chairs/toys, paper products, and cooking essentials. The 2 TV's were great considering we had a mix of kids/teens/adults - both with fire sticks to allow for streaming all your channels. The wifi was great- in the past we had to drive to the general store to get a signal lol! Nothing beats the beach at this house and it was huge this year. We can't wait to come back again next year. Thanks Julie!

Quiet home on the shore of Lake Michigan
We throughly enjoyed our stay. The house is spacious and well appointed with a well stocked kitchen, comfortable large bedrooms, breezy and quiet. It's 10 min from Good Hart General Store, 25 minutes from Cross Village, 35 from Harbor Springs and 40-45 from Petoskey so stock up on groceries or plan on driving time to shops/ restaurants. Glorious stars at night and lovely private beach with beach toys, chairs, kayaks provided. If you like quiet and solitude and retreat, this is a perfect place. Hosts are attentive and respond quickly. We would stay again.

Perfect Northern Michigan Beach Getaway
Julie has one of the best summer rentals we've had in a long time. Her place while a little further to get to is well worth the time. It is far from town, so keep that in mind when making the drive in because there isn't a quick trip to the market at night (although the general store down the road has a few things and makes great sandwiches, cookies and pies!). The beach is a little walk across the dunes to lead you to basically a private beach. Some had a little algae washing up, but our beach stayed relatively clear most days. No need to pack chairs as she had plenty for our group to bring down, along with a couple kayaks and SUPs if you were so inclined. The house itself was well appointed with a more equipped kitchen that ours at home, including a Keurig, enameled stock pot, fry pan, oils, spices, and even a Vitamix! It was great having a 3rd bathroom and a full size washer and dryer which typically had a load of clothes or towels going each night. Beds were comfy and while it lacks AC, there were plenty of fans for the cool nights despite day temps into the upper 80's/low 90's. This place will knock your socks off and we hope to be fortunate to be return guests if we can swing it again. It was a great place to gather with family and Julie has an amazing home and is one of the best hosts you could ask for, if I could give a sixth star, we would would!!

thoughtfully furnished rental
We had a wonderful time, great beach days, and were impressed with the high quality and thoughtful choices the the hosts made with the furnishings, beds, linens, towels, kitchen tools… even everything needed for the beach! The view of the lake is gorgeous. The beach is large and would be ample even in high lake years. The short walk to the beach is easy and nicely updated/ maintained for adults and kids to navigate. The location is great for good hart, cross village, and harbor springs visits!

Listing is as described, and delighted to be that close to the water! So many books available to read for the entire family. Kayaks were fun, upgraded linens were great. Kitchen is the most well stocked we have ever experienced, making meals fun to prepare. Definitely suggest arriving in daylight as it does get confusing! Well worth it, my family loved it.

A perfect family getaway!
Absolutely beautiful wooded, Lake Michigan home rental! Ideal for our family of five (w/ college-aged children & friends). Beautifully decorated, cozy, and really well-equipped-- from the kitchen, the furniture, bedding to the beach items. We've stayed at many rentals and this is by far the best equipped for quality and items. Quiet deck and secluded beach made for the perfect getaway. We also loved our day trips for golf, dinner, vineyards, and Mackinac Island. Highly recommend!

Just what we were looking for; Lake Michigan beach access, gorgeous setting, comfortable house, plentiful amenities, responsive host. This location is away from some of the main tourist areas but still within easy driving distance to Harbor Springs and Petosky and not too far from the Mackinaw bridge to the UP. Also plenty to do if you just stay put! Sand, rocks, kayaks, paddle board, tons of boxed games, well-equipped kitchen…all around great place!

We had the most amazing stay here. Unreal private beach and lake view. We could not have asked for more. The house is beautiful and extremely well stocked. You will not regret staying here! Julie is so great and very accommodating. The only thing we’d recommend is arriving in the daylight (unlike us haha!) Julie gave great directions but in the dark it can be hard to navigate in the woods! We can’t say enough great things about this little slice of heaven! We hope to be back in the future!!

Tunnel of trees gem!
We loved this property, it is nothing short of amazing. Saw several deer, very quiet and peaceful listening to Lake Michigan. All amenities you could possibly need, the wireless chargers were a plus! Pack everything you need because you won’t want to leave. Also be aware there are no short trips to the store in this neck of the woods, just like we had hoped.

Peaceful Lake Michigan Cottage
This is an incredible property! The cottage is well stocked and has three spacious bedrooms. The beds, linens and towels were new and very comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped just as it states with nice appliances, pans and cookware. Julie has thought of little extras that made our stay very comfortable and relaxing. The fireplace made for cozy, tranquil evenings. The beach access is a short easy walk, with kayaks, chairs, and other beach amenities available. Lake Michigan can be seen and heard from the deck. Walks on the beach as well as walks through the woods allowed us to appreciate the quiet, serene beauty of the area. Deer were visible often through the many windows as they frequently walked past the house. Julie was quick to respond to any inquiries that we had and was very helpful! We hope to visit again in the near future and are very appreciative that they have shared their beautiful cottage!
