We booked a stay for myself and my two daughter for a get together. We originally we booked for one of the smaller building but at check in my daughter asked if we could get a room at the Main Lodge. We were graciously moved to a room in the Main Lodge with no change in price. The staff was friendly and very efficient. My daughters especially liked the wonderful aroma in the halls and lounges. Our room had a beautiful view of the ski slopes ( with their beautiful fall colors), the pond and we were close to the pool and hot tub also. Overall, everything was great and I would love to go there again.
Always love the Highlands. Only thing is that some of the common areas could use some repainting...the dining room is looking it's age. Otherwise Excellent!
Stayed at the Bartley House...third floor walk-up ski dorm. Room hadn't been updated since the 80"s. Bad carpet, light right outside the window that made the room very light. Counter with sink came up to mid-thigh...was so low you could barely bend over that far. Fan in bathroom was alike a jet engine...SO loud. Two pluses: plenty of clean linens and beautiful grounds. Stayed only because it was a last minute trip and there were no other options. Would not stay there again.

The room was small but very nice. The beds were wonderful. Stayed at Bratley House which is old but quaint.

Thought we were to be in the Main Lodge but upon check in we were in one of two building which are considered to be part of the main lodge. We were on the back side of the building, on which they were doing some outside renovation - not a really nice view. Room was very nice and really clean. Next time I would ask to have my room changed.

Need another mirror and more counter space. They really could have included bogo breakfast buffet or kids under 13 eat free! Needed to up date carpet. Plaid is not a good choice! Nice pool and spa but needed more working fishing poles. Fun chair lift ride AND free! Loved it!! More freebies for kids would be great!!

Older, small room, dated facilities and equipment in the room
Having been to Harbor Springs many times over the years, I had somehow never spent time at Boyne Highlands. What a nice surprise. The staff was pleasant. The room was comfortable. The ambiance overall was quiet and peaceful. A lot to do - golf, pools, spa, exercise room, paddle boats, horse drawn carriage, theater, a bar, good food, zip line, a lift to the top for a nice view. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and will be better prepared for my next stay to ensure I make better use of the facilities. And the drive to Harbor Springs was only 10 minutes.
I went to Boyne Highlands for a family wedding. The rehearsal and ceremony and reception were
all located at the resort so it made sense to stay there.

Boyne Highlands
The rooms were clean but the hot tub was under construction which we were not informed about.
Arrived at night and after leaving the lobby, the driveway was poorly lit if any lighting at all and was difficult to find the building we were to stay in. The parking lot was hard to see with poor lighting and no signage telling you where to park for the building. Once inside, the accomodations were very old, not very comfortable and did not give the impression that it was clean. We expected much more from a Boyne property.
Staff is great! We stayed just one night in one of the older buildings. Be prepared to carry your bags .....quite a distance. It would be good to explore the hotel floors first to find your room, then go get your bags. Oh, bring a flashlight if you get there after dark. Our shower quit for a time but then started again. Warm water was tepid. Bed was clean and the view a beautiful fall scene. If we were going to be there more than a day, I would want to stay in a different building.
For the price, it was a great room. It is off the beaten path of the main lodge. Ample secondary lot which was dirt.
As you can read from multiple reviews, it is dated. Older rooms, older building, older TVs, etc.
Bed was very soft and comfy, however, the queen beds were sized more like twins to be honest.
Nothing fancy about this place, a little rustic, but clean and quiet.
A few small negatives... You have to check in at the main lodge, a good hike or short drive. They actually still use metal keys...
Any dealings with the hotel staff had to be made at the main lodge.
However, all my dealings were very pleasant and quick.
I can only rate the staff a 4 due to having to walk to the other buildings.
I can only rate the facilities and condition as a 4, as it is dated.
I was expecting a 60 person large hot tub which was at our lodge, however, either they mistakenly called a "heated pool' a hotub, or it was broke.
We did, however, enjoy the hot tub at the main lodge after a long day on our feet.
We would definitely stay there again. You're no more than an hour away from Petoskey, Charlevoix, Tunnel of Trees, Mackinaw, etc. A great central location to northern MI...
Staff was very polite, helpful and friendly. Food was excellent. Only thing is that it is a little dated but on some levels that added to the charm. Also, WiFi was sometimes hard to connect to.
Everything was great except the restaurant food, while prepared well, and good tasting, was somewhat higher prices for the portion sizes in our opinion. Overall still a very good experience
This is the 3d time I have been to this hotel -- lots going on even before ski season with golf, the pool, the zip line, hiking and horse back riding (not my thing but others we know who stayed there did it and really enjoyed it). The pizza in the bar was very good. The area is wonderful in all seasons. Staff is friendly and helpful.
This hotel is well maintained and has many amenities for guests, including indoor/outdoor heated swimming pools, golf courses, skiing, ziplines, paddle boats, tennis courts and fishing. On the Saturday night we stayed in August, there were complimentary horse and carriage rides, and a complimentary bonfire with s'mores. You can sign up for golf and tennis lessons, segway rides were also available for an extra charge. Great place for families!
A beautiful, comfy, clean and friendly place for either traveling through or staying.

Perfect for kids
Good spot for a short family vacation. Stayed in Bartley House which could use a serious update. Lots of hallway noise in early morning hours from golfers and hotel staff. On the plus side there are lots of activities for kids-smores every night, paddle boat rides, movies on the lawn, putt-putt golf.
The part of the hotel that we were in had water damage to the ceiling (brown and sagging). The bathrooms and decor haven't been redone in many years (old tile and faucets, old furniture). The outside looks nice but I felt like I was in a cheap motel once I got inside.
