Affordable location, note on bathroom
Great pillows I must say, so it was a comfy night's sleep. The bathroom in our family room (at level 9) was alright, with the shower area having no partition of any kind, so the water pools around the toilet and sink. Just be wary of that. The bathroom was kept clean anyways so the issue of water pooling just took me by surprise.

It is a very small hotel, yet carefully decorated
While the standard room was very small, the room was clean, nicely kept and decorated and all the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. It is also in a very good location, close to restaurants and easy to find.

Excellent service and clean
The staff do everything in their power to help you and make your stay comfortable. Vietnam beds are hard as it stops bed bugs. The back rooms are quite as they are off the street. The staff are very professional and personal and kind.

Small room for a decent price
The room was small without window, but very clean and had everything you need. Got women up in morning by people taking outside of the room. The ladies at the reception was very nice and helpful. The man at the reception was helpful, but he was very pushy in a way that did not suit us. Well, you can't like everybody :) The breakfast was a menu that you ordered your choice from. The location was good, however I would have preferred to stay around where Hanoi Hibiscus Hotel is situated, as there are more restaurants and action around there.

Really friendly staff!
Great Hotel, staff are super friendly and really useful, we arrived at the start of our trip in Vietnam, and they sat down and helped us outline the rest of our trip, where was worth visiting and staying etc and suggested the night trains which worked really well for us, wouldn't book these through the hotel though, we checked online and the prices advertised there were a lot cheaper than the hotel had quoted so we booked this ourselves. They did however, organise a local day trip and an overnight cruise in Ha Long Bay which were both excellent. Unfortunately, the room was slightly damp and the air con unit stank so we were avoiding using it but the room was otherwise clean and comfortable.

Excellent Staff Great Service
The service here was way above par. Our host Joy went above and beyond to help set up a great budget 2 day stay in Ha Long Bay. Arranged all of our transfers to and from airport. Super responsive on email. 5 star service. Great breakfast.

This hotel outshone any others on my trip by far!
I was upgraded to the sister hotel Serenity Villas. Delayed because of bad weather I arrived at almost 1pm, yet the staff brushed off my apologies for being so late and waking them with smiles and a warm welcome. The room itself was a good size, genuinely like a boutique hotel, with fully tiled bathroom and rain shower. Bed was firm, but the pillows were amazing, all in crisp white bed linen. The air conditioning worked well and quietly. I honestly couldn't fault the hotel, particularly given the great price I'd paid. But more was to come. Continental breakfast turned out to include bacon, sausages, pancakes, croissants, fresh fruits, salad (a bit odd, but others seemed to go for it, fruit juices and a range of Chinese breakfast options, tea and coffee. The staff spoke English, were very helpful in suggesting places to go. Nobody tried to sell me any tours, though there was clearly the option of buying through the hotel judging by the posters on display. There was an in room safe large enough to fit a laptop. A well-stocked minibar was also in the room. My early flight meant I had to leave before breakfast started, but the staff prepared me a breakfast-to-go which wasn't as nice as the buffet, but in truth that didn't have to go to the trouble, and it was a really nice touch. I'm consciously upbeat about this hotel as it outshone any others on my trip, and did so by quite some distance.

We only stayed one night as we had a tour to go to for 5 nights but the hotel was pleasant. You certainly get what you pay for but I am very fussy and would say that it was clean and the staff pleasant.

Hotel old and damp location on busy dirty street
Standard room booked damp and smelly. I arrived after 2pm and room still not ready. Only good thing is when I asked for room change I was upgraded to deluxe room without charge which was better room. Hotel carpet stained and hallway cluttered with mattress and other stuff during my stay. Breakfast is set menu not worth it. Overall not good stay.

Nice hotel.
Nice hotel with simple breakfast. Tour packages offered was expensive as what was shared by my friend. Manager slightly too aggresive in sales of tour packages upon c/in. Other then that overall is a pleasant stay.

superior room
It was great to stay there but one think I didn't like about the hotel was the noise in the room 602. I was solo traveler and I got a superior room type and I could hear the boiler(or a machine)all night long regularly. It had a gap between the noise so I was able to sleep but I wasn't that happy about it. I came back to hotel quite late so by the time I went down to the lobby, the staff was sleeping. I didn't want to bother him so I tried to sleep in that room. I only stayed for two nights and I was out all day so it was okay to stay but if someone is sensative to sound, I don't recommend this room. Overall breakfast was great. There were many options to choose so I had a different breakfast each day. All of staffs were really friendly and helpful. Room itself was also very clean. Everytime when I was out they cleaned the room nicely. Towels were clean and the duvets were soft and white.

OK hotel in old Hanoi
We booked a suite and for the price you can't really complain, the room had a few little things that could be improved like the leaky shower and dust behind the bed but overall this was a good cheap stay in Hanoi. The staff were very nice and friendly and the location was good for the old quarter and not far from the lake. We did not use the hotel for booking our trips to Sapa and Belong bay as we found these cheaper elsewhere.

You get what you pay for
This hotel was very good value considering it was cheap, in a good location and had a good breakfast. The decor in the rooms was nice enough (not hostely at all). Also the night staff were very nice. However: We were upgraded to a 'deluxe' room where the water in the shower didn't go down and the whole bathroom leaked, and the aircon constantly dripped and dried the room out so much that after an hour or so we had really sore throats. We complained and were told when we came back at the end of the day that the problems had been fixed, but they had not and the aircon technician had left rubbish everywhere. Eventually we moved room, and we're downgraded to a superior room, which was tiny and windowless, and asked to have a similar room to the one we had before. When we entered the room they immediately called us and demanded extra money for the room! In the new room, the hot water didn't work, so after a lot of checking we eventually had to use a third room to shower and had a lot of time wasted. Also after taking our toiletries to the new room to shower we were not given any new ones for the following day. The daytime staff were hyperactive and followed us around when we came downstairs, always asking what we were doing and demanding that we book day tours through them and nobody else. They didn't seem to think we were capable of exploring the city by ourselves without paying them money to get someone to drive us around. Their tours were also a rip off. On one occasion we returned to the hotel and asked for our room key, and when it didn't work we realised we had been given the key to someone else's room. We also used the laundry services of the hotel. The clothes came back clean but my first lot had a lot of someone else's clothes mixed in when I got it back, and the second lot I did, which was just three t-shorts, came back missing one t-shirt. We were probably very unlucky with what happened to us, but really I think you get what you pay for.
