I booked our stay at the Lucky Buddha based purely on the price and location. I didn't look at any of the reviews until after we were checked in, which may have been a mistake but I probably would have booked it anyway. We only needed a room for one night and we came to Vietnam for adventure, so why not?
Cons first;
-only 2 towels for 4 people (towels play a key role in this hotel, see some of the other reviews for context).
-no soap in the bathroom, and shampoo that was so old it was thick and black like tar.
-no water or drinks in the fridge (not a big deal, we had our own).
-the duvets on the beds were comically small, basically a double bed duvet turned sideways to cover just the bottom half of the bed (again, not a big deal, it's hot here).
-TV not working (I think this is known as a "first world problem", I was actually happy not to have the TV but my kids felt otherwise).
Now for the pros;
-Enormous room for the price.
-AC in the room that worked, takes a while to cool down such a large room though.
-Huge beds with memory foam mattress toppers over foam mattresses. I found the bed quite comfortable and slept pretty good.
-Nice big bathroom with a huge soaker bathtub! This is very hard to find in Vietnam.
We didn't use the pool. I saw the water being circulated the following morning so it's obviously being maintained, but I didn't smell any chlorine. We didn't have time anyway, no big loss. The heavy bag and wooden weapons in the lobby were a big question mark too...
