Serene getaway
We all had an amazing week at this fabulous lake house. Beautiful views and plenty of activities available for all ages. We hiked, floated, kayaked, fished and paddled our way through the week creating memories that will last us a lifetime.

Frustrating, not clean, and has ANTS
The property itself was very pretty however there was quite a few issues. The biggest issue being there is an Ant infestation in the front right room and dining room. There were not any traps or any kind of pest control so we had to attempt to rid them ourselves just to be able to walk through the dining room. There were multiple largely cracked windows creating a significant draft near them. When we booked way back in December, there was no notice of additional fees for hot tub usage but the listing was updated since we booked and we were required to pay the ridiculous hot tub fee. I spoke with both vrbo customer service and the property owner and all they did was offer $50 off the $250 hot tub fee and kept saying he has Venmo transactions of $250 to prove it was there. Additionally, we were required to pay it through venmo or cash app, not in the actual vrbo app charges! Customer service said they should not be collecting fees outside the vrbo app. The hot tub itself is sitting on a slope outside causing water to spill out a bit and the property has an outdoor camera pointed directly at the hot tub. As a group of just women, this was incredibly uncomfortable!! The property owner was a male. We were also required to poor powdered chemicals into the hot tub after each use. The chemicals were in a ziplock baggie of which we have no idea what they were. Trying to communicate with the property owner took hours each time for them to respond. The house was mostly tidy but it was dirty. The countertops had coffee stains and the pans for the oven were covered in slimy grease. We had to wash every dish before using it. The tables were covered in dirt. We wiped them down first and the wipe was brown after cleaning the table. It’s clear the house gets straightened up but not actually cleaned well. The shower in the master Bath has rust and they left behind opened bottles of soap that had clearly been used by others, not the travel kind. They had a gazebo with half hung caution tape and it looked like it was falling apart. I also got a message from the owner asking me not to post a review if it’s anything less than 5 stars. The actual property is very grand and pretty but poorly maintained and cleaned. They need pest control asap and they are overcharging for the quality of the stay. It was a frustrating experience especially for the price we had to pay.

Cozy Lake Mansion
On a cold November weekend, our group of six adults could only pry ourselves from the property to acquire supplies and hit one (excellent) hiking trail. This is a great home and escape for a large group. Despite the soaring ceilings and spaciousness, JD's home felt warm and welcoming. A modern heating system and two fireplaces (gas + wood) kept the entire place cozy. Living in NYC, we simply luxuriated in the space: spending waaaaaay too much time in the well-sorted roomy kitchen: some attending to various complex meals, others lounging in one of the airy sitting rooms, and at least one person cursing at the screen in the game room. We were blessed with a couple light snowfalls, setting the mood and encouraging us to keep the fires blazing. We could have hit more hiking trails, but we were happy enough just cutting out the usual routine while coming together is such a nice space. The eclectic decor only enhanced the feeling of being away and apart. JD is a fantastic host: rapid, thorough communication and very much focused on pleasing his guests. Upon arrival we noticed an issue with the stove/range. JD responded immediately, arranging contact with his handyman who, though providing a logical reason and method to resolve (which was indeed correct), also offered to drop in personally. Problem solved and no other issues. Warm weather would allow full enjoyment of the lake; however, even in the winter this is a wonderful place to stay and relax. The lake is still lovely, with morning mist rewarding early-risers. Close to town, yet feeling secluded. Highly recommended.

Perfect getaway at a beautiful lake house and excellent hospitality
We absolutely enjoyed our stay at the beautiful lake house which was conveniently tucked away from all sound and air pollution. The house offered everything we needed for our stay. We used up all of the propane gas for the outdoor heater, and the owners delivered more gas tank immediately the following morning for the rest of our stay. They also accommodated an earlier check in and did not rush the checkout process. We felt absolutely welcomed and the hospitality was unparalleled. My son made a silly mistake and damaged an arcade machine, we offered to compensate for the machine and the host was extremely understandable and accommodating. All in all, we would love to return and recommend to anyone!

Gorgeous view!
We booked this house for a summer celebration with friends and family and couldn’t be happier! This was the nicest place I’ve rented for sure! Reasonably priced, nice area, and once you get out on the lake, it just can’t be beat! The views from inside the house were spectacular too. Joydev was a pleasure to work with, the check in and check out processes were very easy. The weekend couldn’t have gone more smoothly! Highly recommend!!

Everything we needed for amazing getaway
The house is stunning! It is beautifully decorated and Joydev had it stocked with a lot of the basic amenities. The best part was the access to a private lake right in the backyard with tubes, pedal boat, kayaks and life vests. The kids and adults had a great time and no one wanted to leave! We were celebrating a milestone birthday and would highly recommend River Run Restaurant in Hancock, set in a very picturesque area on a resort about 20 minutes from the house. Overall, it was a perfect birthday getaway.
