About this property

Entire place

You'll have the entire home to yourself and will only share it with other guests in your party.

The cottage is ideally situated for exploring the Suffolk coast and countryside.

2 bedroomed cottages ideal for couples or young families. Dogs welcome.
Set back from the road. Built circa 1750, this traditional timber framed cottage has been carefully renovated and fitted out to a high standard to offer comfortable accommodation whilst retaining many original features such as oak beams, wattle and daub walls and a bread oven.

One of two adjoining cottages available to rent. The cottage sleeps up to 4 people and is available for stays of 3 nights or more. Because of the limitations on how we can set prices on this site please ask for a quote for short stays of between 4-6 nights so that we can apply a discount.

It has central heating throughout. On the ground floor the living/dining room has a large open fire, perfect for cosy winter evenings. Two sofas and a dining area.
The well equipped kitchen also has a microwave, airfryer, freezer and washing machine.

On the first floor, there are two bedrooms. The double bedroom has views to the front, and the twin bedroom has views to the back, both over open fields. Blackout blinds are fitted at the windows. Also on the first floor is a good-sized bathroom with bath and walk-in shower.

At the back of the cottage there is a small enclosed (with a low fence) garden set out with garden table and chairs where you can enjoy the fabulous view over open farmland.

The cottages are located in a village just outside the Blyth valley, an area of outstanding natural beauty. We love the slower pace of life, the relaxed atmosphere, and the great local produce.

The village has a family and dog-friendly pub that serves good food and a good local shop where basic supplies can be bought. Both are within a short walk from the cottages.

The cottage offers an ideal location for exploring the Suffolk coastal area and delving deeper into the Suffolk countryside.

Please note that because of its age, the stairs are quite steep, so the property is not suitable for anyone with mobility issues.

Lovely cottage for visiting Suffolk coast
A beautifully presented and well equipped old cottage. Very comfortable throughout, with great views at the rear, over farmland. The only drawback is the lack of pavement on a busy road.only

Beautiful views from the garden
Great base for us to reconnect with old friends and revisit some favourites places I haven’t been to since I left Suffolk. Nice cottage with cute garden and great views out the back.Garden is a real sun trap and fenced in so great for dogs or small children. Best equipped property I’ve ever stayed in. Set back from the road so quite quiet however the pavement to the separate parking is narrow and no pavement for most of the way down to the Queen’s head so was a little scary at times but this would not stop me booking again. Recommended definitely.

A Lovely Place
A cottage of real character. Everything inside was of very good quality — we must mention especially the impressively-equipped kitchen. Parking was fine and the location was really good for all we wanted to do along the Suffolk coast and inland. Add this to all the other laudatory reviews!

Lovely timber-framed cottage in perfect location
Beautiful wood framed 18th (I think)Century timber- framed cottage It is really cosy (but not small) with an interesting staircase leading up to up to the two bedrooms where the old roof- timbers are exposed . Bathroom & shower bathroom is conveniently situated near to the bedrooms on the first floor. Open fireplace downstairs & parking space off the road.. Perfect! We would love to stay again soon.

Cute cottage for exploring Suffolk
This cottage is very well presented with a small garden overlooking fields. For us the wheat was ripening so even better and the sunsets were lovely to watch from the garden as was stargazing on a clear night. We used the cottage as a base to explore Suffolk and go to Latitude Festival..it was in a perfect location for the latter as only 20 mins drive away. We loved exploring Halesworth is five mins plus down the road to get you shopping or takeaways. Greta fish n chips from Seashell. Southwold, Thorpeness all good places to visit. Orford Ness a national Trust shingle spit is interesting for those interested in military history and we drive up to the Norfolk Broads and took out a boat on the Broads for the day. All in all we had a great holiday using this cottage as a base.

Beautiful cottage
Wow! We were bowled over by this holiday cottage. So clean, so pretty and so well situated for visiting the area. Loved the bench in the front garden for an early morning coffee in the sunshine - yes, there is some road noise, but you can't see the road because of the beautiful cottage garden. Loved sitting in the garden in the back in the evening overlooking the farmer's field and enjoying a glass of wine and our dinner. This was the best equipped holiday cottage we have stayed in and we have been staying in them for over 15 years. Loved the cake and the bottle of apple juice on arrival. Parking the car was easy enough if you reversed into the space - meant that getting out the next time was easy as you could see the traffic both ways. Would certainly recommend this cottage to stay in and would love to go back in the winter and be able to light the fire and be cozy!

Wow! Absolutely brilliant
Lovely cottage and location, all clean and superbly equipped. Suffolk people are really friendly. Pub down the road was great and you can walk to it , even though some folks panic. You need to live where we live and you wouldn’t have a problem. Very dog friendly area. Very historic and lovely beaches. Would recommend to all interested parties. Parking charges very reasonable where appropriate and some free or you can donate to a charity. Overall fantastic holiday, no faults.

The cottage was perfect for exploring the Suffolk coast It was a very relaxing location. Apart from the main road at the front which was noisy to walk along towards the village once you got into the back garden it was quiet and had beautiful farmland scenery for as long as you could see.

Lovely cosy cottage
Very lovely cottage. Highlights how include the lovely welcome cake & milk in the fridge. Kitchen was very well equipped. Real fireplace gorgeous & generous wood left for use. Only downside is you can’t roam around the fields or walk locally, you’re dependant on the car to get around & about. Gorgeous lovely beaches nearby. Really loved Dunwich Heath & woods.
