Riverfront relaxation
We had a wonderful stay. The house was just as described, a cozy cottage perfect for relaxing with beautiful riverfront views. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed, the living room and main bedroom we used were comfortable, and the sun porch had great views where you could relax in the AC. The patio had a great dining table/umbrella, and the dock was perfect for fishing. Thank you for a lovely getaway cottage!

Northern Meck right on the water
We enjoyed this place. The back porch was great for looking out on the water. Enjoyed a moon rise first evening. Historical area. You should go and stay!

We loved this place! Being right on the water was so beautiful and peaceful. The place is spacious and clean, and it had plenty of room for our family with teens. We found two fun waterfront restaurants nearby too. We would love to go back!

Get Away Weekend

Relaxing off-the-beaten-path place to stay
Those gorgeous sunrises will never cease to amaze! We enjoyed our second stay at this property staying 11 nights. It’s about 2 hours from DC so we were able to do a couple of trips there. Part of our stay was during a very cold snap but property stayed warm and cozy.

Summer Vacation
We had a great week of vacation at this little hidden gem. We spent a lot of our time fishing as a family and just sitting on the dock listening to the waves. This was a quiet area, but not too far from quaint little towns to visit. Would definitely recommend it.

Both my wife and I had a very relaxing, wonderful stay in your cottage this past weekend. The view were fantastic and the cottage was just as described. The area is very laid back and quiet. No traffic and crowds to deal with. Very enjoyable. Will definitely consider returning !!!

Retreat
We were in the area for a family wedding so spent most of our time away from the cottage. It provided a welcome morning and evening retreat, sun (or even clouds) over the water. We could have enjoyed many hours sitting in the "sun room" if we hadn't been pulled away to other activities. It was all lovely and easy. Suggest owners install a grab bar for the tub/shower. That tile step is dangerous, especially when wet.

Best Water View
A simple cottage with an awesome view! We spent all our time sitting on the patio or in the sunporch watching the boats, Ospreys fishing, and eagles soaring overhead. The water is about 20' from the patio and has totally unobstructed views of the wide Potomac. One level house with no steps to the patio which made for easy access for our 94 yo mother.

Lovely, quiet getaway
We had an enjoyable 3 days there! It was so quiet and peaceful. I am not sure if it is always this quiet there, maybe because it is still early summer and some schools are still in session. Loved the back patio and the dock. Beautiful place to watch the sunrise! The house was unique in the layout, but it was a fun place to stay. Very clean! Smelled fresh and clean the moment we walked in. Communication was fast and clear. Thank you so much for a much needed quiet getaway for our family!

Great property. Beautiful view.
Unfortunately, we booked a week when it rained everyday, so we didn't get a chance to enjoy outside and the beautiful view of the Potomac like we wanted. The property was clean with the exception of the bathtub in the middle bathroom between the two bedrooms. The bathtub had not been cleaned, which meant that all five of us used one shower. It was a minor inconvenience, but we definitely expected two clean bathrooms. The property is far from grocery stores and restaurants, so be prepared. I'd definitely recommend the place, but with the dirty tub, I can't give it five stars.

Amazing View!!!
My family and I celebrated my son's 11th birthday in this beautiful and peaceful waterfront home. The waterfront view was spectacular. The house is pretty decent. I have no complaint. Ms. Kc was very nice and she response right away. I didn't let my kids swim in the river (but I guess you can If you want... I saw people from another property were swimming & jumping into the water). We were planning to go to the nearby beach but my family specially my kids had an amazing time fishing in the pier so we didn't bother to leave. Don't forget the bug spray specially if you planning to stay out side late at night. Also, this place is perfect for watching sunrise & sunset and stargazing. Can't wait for our next vacation.

Tranquility
If you are looking for peace and quiet then this rental is for you. Listen to the river flow right out of the back door. Dock to fish off of or just sit and relax. All the amenities as if you were home. Outside of the tranquil home…Only draw back is that there isn’t much to do outside of boating, kayaking or jet skiing. If you have small children that need to go t many places for entertainment, you will need to drive quite a ways to do so. Movie theater and fun zone a little over an hour away with mini golf too. State parks and Colonial Beach is about 40 minutes away. Walmart is 45 mins away and Food Lion and Dollar General are about 35 minutes from the home. Host is fantastic with communication and we appreciate her allowing us to rent her lovely home on the river.

Good fishing, house lacking
This house is perfect for 1-3 people looking for a place to fish. Despite an impending storm, the fishing was good from the dock, catching mostly smaller stripers and a random crab. The house itself was ok, however the pictures are a bit misleading. The angle the pictures were taken makes the spaces seem much larger then they actually are. The water pressure was lacking in the second bathroom and the water had a distinct odor, from what we assumed was from the well system. The beds in the second bedroom were small and hard, making it uncomfortable for anyone over 6 ft tall. There was only a single tv in the house with only a dozen channels from an hd antenna on the roof. There were no check in/out instructions or information about the surrounding area, so we had to discover everything for ourselves. There is not much in the area to do besides fishing. It was a fine place for myself and my father in law to stay while fishing for a couple days but I personally would not stay for longer periods of time.

This is a nice little cottage, tucked away from everything right on the river. I was looking for some peace and quiet, and that’s exactly what I got. Even though the weather wasn’t great, the sunroom still let me enjoy the views.

Fantastic views
Host was amazing! My MIL lost her wedding rings! They turned up after next renters who put them on dining room table --thank you honest people!! Host drove 3 hrs each way to retrieve them for us and wouldn't take a reward. We had talked about renting again even before this amazing experience
