Tonoike Sake Brewery is an Award winning Sake brewery in Mashiko town, which is well known for pottery and traditional crafts. ( 3 hours from central Tokyo)

It is open 7days a week and sections of the brewery is open to the public.
There is also a section where you can taste different Sake and drink coffee which they brew in the crisp water used for Sake.

Oversea tourists are welcome and if you are lucky the owner may show you around himself!

"Wecloved the onsen baths. The people very helpful. The room lovely, the food delicious. The robes and the shop. We will come again. Thank you particularly to Yuki who was very kind to us. "

"The stay was definitely good value for money. The management is very careful and willing to help. The onsen silk water is very nice. The room is comfortable. Only one thing : young guys woke me up during the night as they were talking loud on the parking"

"Very relaxing hotel. Close to the cable car. Delicious food, easy going and big room. We were allowed to make use of the onsen opposite the hotel and the could also use the one in the hotel. Spectacular views and very friendly staff. They speak English and Japanese."

"This is one of the best hotels I have ever lived in Utsynomiya. I visit to Utsynomiya once a year, and it is hardly find an affordable while comfortable hotel. Finally, I am able to find one. Highly recommend this hotel. I stayed in this hotel for three nights. Room is spacious.The hotel itself is convenient as it is located nearby the JR station. Staff are helpful and polite. There are many options in the breakfast buffet. I will choose to stay here again."

Nice stay although a little too far from the main

"Typical hotel. We had a room on the smaller side but it accommodated us just fine. Free Japanese breakfast in the morning was a nice touch for weary travelers. It is a far way out of Koriyama so if you want to stay closer it is wise to book in town. We personally like to stay out of the main tourist hubs so we were happy here."
