The house was beautiful! Very clean and organized. Lots of history in the house. My husband enjoyed reading the books in the home that helped to explain the history of the island.
Our family loved the Sea Captains House! It brought back a lot of wonderful memories of growing up every weekend on the island. The house is decorated beautifully and the owners have put a lot of thought into everything you might need while staying there! We have already booked our next stay!
Excellent home with beautiful furnishings. The beach is small. However, Haven Beach is only 20 minutes away and worth the drive. Bethel Beach Natural Area is also worth a visit with nice fishing.
Everything went as expected as the check-in scheme was flawless, very clean, very well stocked for multi-day stay, location was great and has an excellent overall stay.
Well maintained, clean home on the island. The property is in a very quiet area with some friendly neighbors. The beach near the home is very small so we drove to Haven Beach a couple of times which is about 20 minutes away. There were some board and card games to play in the evening and bikes to ride during the day.
This lovely home was by the far the most spotless Vrbo home I've ever stayed! It was well equipped and the host was very communicative and helpful with great local spots to eat and shop. This next comment has nothing to do with my stay but is meant to inform about the area....the local public beaches are narrow and small so if you're looking for a "beach experience" this area may not be for you. BUT, I would absolutely recommend this lovely home for a relaxing vacation! The community is welcoming and the views are stunning! Thanks for making our trip one to remember!
This is a gorgeous property and you can’t ask for a better host! The house is clean, spacious and inviting. There was a big yard that provided plenty of room for the kids to play and bikes for them to ride on safe quiet streets. The beach access was small however we had it to ourselves nearly the entire time and it is plenty big for a family! We met most of the neighbors while we were there and they are very friendly. Gwynn Island is still close enough to day trip to Busch Gardens. We had such a great time, we added an additional night to our stay! Great family vacation!
We loved the cleanliness and beautifully decorated house with the antiques and bay theme decorations. The area is very peaceful and tranquil with a short walk to a sandy area at the water. Haven beach is a short drive away which we enjoyed very much. We have been coming to Gwynn since 2016 and love the area and this is our new favorite place to stay. We plan to return often.
Owners' description provides all details needed; property itself met and exceeded expectations! Simply beautiful house, perfectly appointed, every amenity possible was available. Charming decor, appropriate for the historic Gwynn's Island charm, with all modern conveniences. We loved it and will definitely return! Thank you so much!
We had the most wonderful end of summer stay at The Sea Captain's House. The house was very clean and in a fantastic location for quiet beach days. We have already booked our next stay.
Exactly as advertised. House was very clean. Hubby loved the antique furniture and knick-knacks. Loved the small private beach. Didn’t even know about Gwynn island until we found it while searching for places to go “near” where we live about 10 days before our trip. We usually plan our summer vacation months in advance, but this summer, it was a last minute decision to get away from the city. Glad we did. We had thoughts of exploring the area but we ended up just hanging out on the beach, lol.
